the provisions of these Rules, the Board shall have power, with the consent of<br />

the Authority (and the Commissioner in case of a registered scheme), to admit<br />

any employees of that employer or organisation to membership of the Trust<br />

and thereupon that employer shall be deemed to be included in the expression<br />

the ‘sponsor’ for the purposes and to the extent set out in these Rules and the<br />

Deed of Adherence:<br />

Provided that the participation of the new employer shall not be to the<br />

disadvantage of existing members.<br />

52. A person eligible to become a member of the Trust may, as part<br />

of becoming such a member, be required to undergo a medical examination<br />

conducted by a medical practitioner approved by the Board.<br />

53. (1) Every person shall, within three months of his first becoming a<br />

member of the Trust, produce satisfactory evidence of age to the Board, and<br />

shall give the Board such other information as shall reasonably be required for<br />

the purposes of the Trust.<br />

(2) If satisfactory evidence of age is not produced in accordance with<br />

paragraph (1), the Board shall determine the date of birth for the purposes of the<br />

Trust and the date of birth so determined shall be binding to the member.<br />

(3) If a member is married or is a widow or widower with a child, the<br />

member shall indicate the date of marriage, the date of the death if the spouse<br />

is deceased, and the date of birth of any child whether in or out of wedlock,<br />

and shall produce evidence to the satisfaction of the Board within three months<br />

from the date of the happening of any of the following—<br />

(a) the birth of any child born to him whether in or out of wedlock and<br />

the date thereof or the date of birth of a step-child and the date of<br />

adoption of a child and particulars relating thereto;<br />

(b) the marriage of any female child and the date thereof;<br />

(c) the death of his spouse or any child and the date thereof;<br />

(d) the annulment or dissolution of his marriage and the date<br />

thereof.<br />

(3) Upon the death of a member or beneficiary, a person claiming any<br />

benefits under these Rules shall produce such evidence in support of the claim<br />

as the Board may require within three months of the date of death of the member<br />

or beneficiary.<br />

(4) During the period of receipt of a pension, the beneficiary shall provide<br />

the following information within three months from the date of the happening<br />

of any of the following events—<br />

(a) the death of any child;<br />

[Subsidiary]<br />

Medical examination.<br />

Evidence of birth,<br />

age, etc.
