(a) reference to the African District Council Ordinance, 1950,<br />

and to any provisions thereof shall be substituted by reference<br />

to this <strong>Act</strong> and to the corresponding provisions of this <strong>Act</strong><br />

respectively; and<br />

(b) references to African District Councils in the titles thereof<br />

shall be substituted by reference to local government; and<br />

(c) references to any particular African District Council shall<br />

be substituted by reference to the county council having<br />

jurisdiction under this <strong>Act</strong> over the same area as that African<br />

District Council had before the coming into operation of<br />

this <strong>Act</strong>.<br />

(6) The Minister may, with the agreement of the local authorities<br />

concerned, at any time by order revoke an order constituting a joint board<br />

under this section, or deemed to be constituted under this section, and<br />

may in any such order provide for the dissolution of the board and for<br />

winding-up the affairs of the board and for distributing, transferring or<br />

otherwise disposing of the property and liabilities thereof, and for all<br />

matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.<br />

105. (1) The powers and duties of, and the property, assets, rights,<br />

debts, liabilities and obligations of, and the benefit and burden of all<br />

contracts made by or on behalf of, a joint board shall not be affected<br />

by the establishment under this <strong>Act</strong> of a new local authority in place of<br />

any interested local authority and the new authority shall be deemed<br />

to be an interested local authority in lieu of the local authority which<br />

it replaces, and the order constituting any such joint board shall, to the<br />

same extent, continue in force subject to references to such new local<br />

authority being substituted for references to the local authority which<br />

it replaces.<br />

(2) In respect of a joint board constituted pursuant to a request<br />

under section 104 (1) (a), each of the local authorities specified in<br />

the order shall be an interested local authority for the purpose of this<br />

section; and in respect of a joint board constituted pursuant to section<br />

104 (1) (b), the local authority which was desirous of acting jointly with<br />

the <strong>Government</strong> for the purpose specified in that paragraph shall be an<br />

interested local authority for the purpose of this section.<br />

106. Subject to any provisions to the contrary contained in an<br />

order constituting a joint board, Part V and Part VI shall apply, mutatis<br />

mutandis, to a joint board.<br />
