About This <strong>Guide</strong><br />

This guide is intended for system administrators. This book is in three parts:<br />

● Part I, “<strong>ESB</strong> <strong>Configuration</strong> Tools <strong>and</strong> Managed Components,” includes the chapters:<br />

■ Chapter 1, “Using <strong>Progress</strong> <strong>Sonic</strong> <strong>ESB</strong> <strong>Configuration</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Management</strong> Tools”<br />

introduces <strong>Progress</strong> <strong>Sonic</strong> <strong>ESB</strong> <strong>and</strong> its configuration <strong>and</strong> management tools.<br />

■ Chapter 2, “<strong>ESB</strong> Containers” describes <strong>ESB</strong> Containers <strong>and</strong> Activation<br />

Daemons.<br />

■ Chapter 3, “<strong>ESB</strong> Endpoints <strong>and</strong> Connections” describes how to use <strong>ESB</strong><br />

components <strong>and</strong> resources.<br />

■ Chapter 4, “Configuring Web Services” describes using Web Service st<strong>and</strong>ards in<br />

the configuration <strong>and</strong> management of <strong>ESB</strong> components <strong>and</strong> resources.<br />
