William Handorf, MBA ’67, is a pr<strong>of</strong>essor<br />

<strong>of</strong> finance and real estate at George<br />

Washington <strong>University</strong>’s <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Business</strong>.<br />

In January he began a two-year term on<br />

the board <strong>of</strong> directors <strong>of</strong> Federal Home<br />

Loan Bank <strong>of</strong> Atlanta. In addition to more<br />

than 35 years <strong>of</strong> experience as a pr<strong>of</strong>essor,<br />

William completed two terms as a director<br />

<strong>of</strong> the Federal Reserve Bank <strong>of</strong> Richmond’s<br />

Baltimore branch, including two years as<br />

chairman. His son Matthew is a first-year<br />

MBA student at <strong>Ross</strong>.<br />

Russell Poole, BBA ’76, was named senior VP<br />

<strong>of</strong> human resources at Novell Inc. He is based<br />

in the firm’s Waltham, Mass., headquarters.<br />

Novell is a multinational s<strong>of</strong>tware and services<br />

corporation that specializes in enterprise<br />

operation systems such as Linux. The firm<br />

also delivers identity, security, systems<br />

management, and collaboration solutions.<br />

Mark Lezotte, BBA ’78/JD ’81, is a shareholder<br />

in the law firm <strong>of</strong> Hall, Render, Killian,<br />

Heath & Lyman in Troy, Mich. He was<br />

named in 2009 Michigan Super Lawyers,<br />

which tracks attorneys from more than 70<br />

practice areas who have attained a high<br />

degree <strong>of</strong> peer recognition and pr<strong>of</strong>essional<br />

after 13 years at Oakwood Healthcare Inc.<br />

in Dearborn, Mich., as corporate director<br />

<strong>of</strong> legal affairs and general counsel. He<br />

specializes in corporate, healthcare, tax, and<br />

exempt organization matters; is a frequent<br />

speaker on health- and law-related topics;<br />

and has served in leadership roles on the<br />

Federal Bar Association’s Health Law<br />

Committee, the State Bar <strong>Business</strong> Law<br />

Section, and the State Bar Nonpr<strong>of</strong>it<br />

Corporations Committee.<br />

James Lefkowitz, BBA ’81, has been named<br />

COO <strong>of</strong> Mandalay Media in Los Angeles.<br />

Jim joined Mandalay in 2007 from Cantor<br />

Fitzgerald, where he was managing director<br />

<strong>of</strong> Cantor Entertainment. Prior to Cantor,<br />

he was an agent for eight years at Creative<br />

Artists Agency, where he represented clients<br />

in connection with film, television, and other<br />

media ventures. Mandalay’s mission is to<br />

build a unique combination <strong>of</strong> new media<br />

distribution and content companies through<br />

acquisitions with domestic and foreign businesses.<br />

Through its wholly owned subsidiary,<br />

Twistbox Entertainment, the company is a<br />

leading global producer and publisher <strong>of</strong><br />

mobile entertainment.<br />

Terri Albert, BBA ’84, spent almost 15<br />

years selling advertising space in a 14-state<br />

territory and helped launch Chicago’s<br />

Divorce magazine. She also spent six years<br />

selecting speakers for internal communications,<br />

biometrics, and government<br />

conferences, and worked for a nonpr<strong>of</strong>it.<br />

In August 2008 she started The Chicago<br />

Organizer, a pr<strong>of</strong>essional organizing<br />

business <strong>of</strong>fering help with residential<br />

clutter concerns. “I work throughout the<br />

Don Mulligan, MBA ’85, was appointed to<br />

the board <strong>of</strong> directors at the Minneapolisbased<br />

Tennant Co. Don is executive VP<br />

and CFO for General Mills. He joined<br />

the company in 2001 and has held various<br />

senior management positions. Prior to<br />

joining General Mills, Don gained extensive<br />

experience in financial management,<br />

operations, and international administration<br />

in various positions with Pillsbury, PepsiCo<br />

Inc., and YUM! Brands Inc.<br />

Richard J. Liekweg, MBA ’87, has been<br />

named president <strong>of</strong> Barnes-Jewish Hospital<br />

and Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital,<br />

as well as group president <strong>of</strong> BJC Health-<br />

Care. The hospital system is St. Louis’<br />

largest employer with more than 9,300<br />

employees and a 1,832-member medical<br />

staff. It also is the largest hospital in<br />

Missouri. Richard previously was CEO and<br />

associate vice chancellor <strong>of</strong> the <strong>University</strong><br />

<strong>of</strong> California, San Diego Medical Center.<br />

Prior to that, he spent more than 15 years in<br />

leadership positions at the Duke <strong>University</strong><br />

Health System.<br />

Robert Mazzacavallo, MBA ’87, was named<br />

CFO <strong>of</strong> San Diego-based Veridiam in<br />

November. Veridiam is a contract manufacturer<br />

<strong>of</strong> high-precision, fabricated assemblies<br />

and metal components, primarily<br />

serving Fortune 500 companies in the<br />

medical devices, power generation,<br />

aerospace, and general industrial markets.<br />

Before joining Veridiam, Robert was CFO<br />

at C-Tech Industries in Camas, Wash.<br />

Sherman Edmiston III, MBA ’90, has<br />

joined Zolfo Cooper in New York. He had<br />

been with Huron Consulting Group.<br />

Sherman has more than 17 years <strong>of</strong> experience<br />

in distressed and special situations as<br />

a financial adviser, investor, and lender.<br />

At Huron Consulting Group (and prior<br />

to that at Glass & Associates), he was<br />

responsible for managing the firm’s<br />
