Joel Wittenberg, MBA ’92, joined the<br />

W.K. Kellogg Foundation in Battle Creek,<br />

Mich., as VP and chief investment <strong>of</strong>ficer in<br />

September. Most recently, he was corporate<br />

VP for treasury and investor relations at<br />

the Kellogg Co. “Joel’s solid background<br />

and success in the corporate world are just<br />

what we need to continue the foundation’s<br />

high financial management standards,” says<br />

Sterling Speirn, the foundation’s president<br />

and CEO. Prior to joining the Kellogg Co.,<br />

Joel was VP and treasurer with Armstrong<br />

World Industries in Lancaster, Pa. He also<br />

held several key treasury roles with Dow<br />

Chemical Co. <strong>of</strong> Midland, Mich.<br />

Brad Hughes, MBA ’93, has been named<br />

VP and CFO <strong>of</strong> Cooper Tire & Rubber<br />

Co. Since 2008 Brad has worked as global<br />

product development controller for Ford<br />

Motor Co. A Ford employee since 1986,<br />

he previously worked as finance director<br />

for Ford’s South America operations in<br />

Sao Paulo, Brazil; as director <strong>of</strong> European<br />

business strategy and implementation in<br />

Cologne, Germany; and in other corporate<br />

finance and treasury positions. Prior<br />

to joining Ford, Brad worked for Fruehauf<br />

Finance Corp. in Detroit.<br />

Andrew Masterman, MBA ’93, has been<br />

appointed president and CEO <strong>of</strong> ESAB<br />

Welding & Cutting North America. Andrew<br />

previously was president <strong>of</strong> Metalico’s platinum<br />

group metals division. Prior to that, he<br />

held the position <strong>of</strong> president at Spartan Light<br />

Metals and Walbro Engine Management<br />

Corp. He also has served in a senior financial<br />

role for Intel Corp.’s server business unit.<br />

Nicholas C. Conrad, MBA ’94, was named VP<br />

<strong>of</strong> finance and treasurer <strong>of</strong> the Andersons Inc.<br />

in October. He oversees the finance, treasury,<br />

investor relations, credit, and insurance functions.<br />

An employee <strong>of</strong> the Andersons since<br />

1984, Nick has served as the credit manager,<br />

cash manager, and assistant treasurer. He<br />

resides in Sylvania, Ohio, with his wife, Gail.<br />

Len Greer, MBA ’94, has been appointed<br />

senior VP, marketing, for CVS Caremark’s<br />

pharmacy benefit management business.<br />

Len joins the company from ActiveHealth,<br />

where he was executive VP, marketing and<br />

product management, responsible for developing<br />

and implementing strategies to drive<br />

growth in the health management business.<br />

Prior to that, he was with Medco Health,<br />

where he held various senior marketing roles,<br />

and McKinsey & Co., where he assisted<br />

lisa howze, BBA ’95, owns and<br />

operates Speaking life Principles Inc., a motivation,<br />

training, and development company based in the detroit<br />

area. Prior to founding the company in 2007, she worked<br />

for dTE Energy. As a pr<strong>of</strong>essional speaker and trainer,<br />

lisa covers topics that include leadership, personal<br />

development, student development, time management,<br />

and financial empowerment. She has addressed a<br />

variety <strong>of</strong> pr<strong>of</strong>essional, business, and student organizations in connection with careers in<br />

accounting and finance. clients in related fields include AXA Advisors llc, deloitte,<br />

Gregory Terrell & co., Plante & Moran Pllc, Pricewaterhousecoopers llP, and the<br />

Wayne county legislative <strong>of</strong>fice <strong>of</strong> the Auditor General. lisa recently ran for detroit’s<br />

city council and finished one place outside <strong>of</strong> winning the final seat on the nine-member<br />

council. She will be seeking elected <strong>of</strong>fice once again in August as a state representative<br />

in Michigan house district 2. lisa is a certified public accountant and former detroit<br />

chapter president <strong>of</strong> the national Association <strong>of</strong> Black Accountants Inc.<br />

Kevin Nowlan, MBA ’95, is VP and treasurer<br />

<strong>of</strong> ArvinMeritor, headquartered in Troy,<br />

Mich. He is responsible for the company’s<br />

global capital market and treasury activities.<br />

He previously was VP and assistant treasurer<br />

and has been with the company since 2007.<br />

Prior to that, Kevin held a series <strong>of</strong> senior-<br />

level financial positions with the GM treasurer’s<br />

<strong>of</strong>fice and GMAC Financial Services.<br />

ArvinMeritor is a global supplier <strong>of</strong> a broad<br />

range <strong>of</strong> integrated systems, modules, and<br />

components to the motor vehicle industry.<br />

David Smart, MBA ’96, recently was named<br />

senior VP and CFO <strong>of</strong> Pella Corp. David<br />

most recently served as CFO <strong>of</strong> Ford Australia<br />

and before that was VP <strong>of</strong> finance, management<br />

information systems, and strategy<br />

for Jaguar and Land Rover North America.<br />

David Voyticky, MBA ’96, is a new director<br />

on the board <strong>of</strong> Houston-based Best Energy<br />

Services Inc. He has more than 15 years <strong>of</strong><br />

domestic and international experience in<br />

mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, and<br />

financing derived from serving as VP with<br />

Goldman Sachs and Houlihan Lokey in<br />

Los Angeles, and as an associate with J.P.<br />

Morgan in London and New York. David<br />

also designed and was a founding partner<br />

<strong>of</strong> Red Mountain Capital Partners. Additionally,<br />

he was a partner in the $300 million<br />

relaunch <strong>of</strong> Chapman Capital LLC.<br />

Elaine O’Gorman, MBA ’98, was named<br />

chief marketing <strong>of</strong>ficer <strong>of</strong> the Receivables<br />

Exchange, the world’s leading online marketplace<br />

for real-time trading <strong>of</strong> accounts<br />

receivable. Before joining the exchange,<br />

Elaine led the marketing efforts <strong>of</strong> Silverpop<br />

Systems and also was part <strong>of</strong> the American<br />

Airlines marketing team. Elaine’s teams<br />

have been recognized with more than<br />

two dozen awards, including the BMA<br />
