Wiscasset, ME, and is now a fulltime<br />
mo<strong>the</strong>r to Michael (now<br />

an EMT and has worked on <strong>the</strong><br />
Wiscasset ambulance crew. Laura<br />
Borden Richter lives <strong>in</strong> Zurich,<br />
Switzerland, and provides<br />
learn<strong>in</strong>g support to children with<br />
dyslexia, ADHD, and o<strong>the</strong>r challenges.<br />
She gave birth to her third<br />
child on 5-29-08 and writes that<br />
she was “swimm<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> diapers,<br />
breast milk, and Legos.” Critter<br />
Thompson (boys camp staff ’93;<br />
former advisor) and his wife, Jody<br />
Kennedy, welcomed a son, Bryce,<br />
on 4-4-08. Kathy Kwei Wong<br />
(advisor) was married <strong>in</strong> Bali <strong>in</strong><br />
’08. She and her husband now<br />
live <strong>in</strong> NYC, where she is <strong>the</strong><br />
owner and designer of Ka<strong>the</strong>r<strong>in</strong>e<br />
Kwei Handbags, dist<strong>in</strong>ctive for a<br />
weave <strong>in</strong>spired by <strong>the</strong> Ch<strong>in</strong>ese<br />
eternity knot. She received a<br />
master’s degree <strong>in</strong> accessories<br />
design from <strong>the</strong> London College<br />

Wash<strong>in</strong>gton, D.C., “work<strong>in</strong>g on<br />
some National Institutes of<br />
Health studies of environmental<br />
causes of cancer and genetic-environmental<br />
<strong>in</strong>teractions,” she<br />
reports, but is about to beg<strong>in</strong> a<br />
job at <strong>the</strong> Wash<strong>in</strong>gton Hospital<br />
Center, “where I hope we can put<br />
more of <strong>the</strong> research <strong>in</strong>to action.”<br />
She also serves as a mentor for<br />
public-school students through a<br />
program called College Bound.<br />
T<strong>in</strong>a Hartell works at <strong>the</strong><br />
Mounta<strong>in</strong> School <strong>in</strong> Vermont.<br />
“Recently, I’ve been writ<strong>in</strong>g<br />
college recommendation letters,<br />
wean<strong>in</strong>g myself off coffee,” she<br />
writes. “I’m look<strong>in</strong>g forward to a<br />
surf trip to <strong>the</strong> Dom<strong>in</strong>ican<br />

Olney gave birth to Scout Elsie<br />
Olney on 10-24-08. Scout and<br />
her older bro<strong>the</strong>r, Myles, are<br />
keep<strong>in</strong>g Chelsie busy but very<br />
happy. Teal Krech Paynter<br />
moved to Wash<strong>in</strong>gton, D.C.,<br />
from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, <strong>in</strong><br />
’09, with her husband, Nat<br />
Paynter (boys camp ’83), and<br />
<strong>the</strong>ir daughter, Clara. “It was fun<br />
driv<strong>in</strong>g around Tanzania with a<br />
<strong>Chewonki</strong> bumper sticker on <strong>the</strong><br />
back of our car,” recalls Krech.<br />
“We met one person who had<br />
spent time on <strong>the</strong> Neck!” Will<br />
Redfield, who lives <strong>in</strong> Chicago,<br />
sat out <strong>the</strong> ’08 presidential<br />
Scout Elsie Olney.<br />

designed a 180 L ethanol fermentation<br />
system that uses woodchips<br />
as its feedstock. Brandon and girlfriend<br />
Sharon Komarow (boys<br />
camp staff ’04) bought a purple<br />
house <strong>in</strong> Somerville, MA. If he<br />
were to ignore traffic laws, he<br />
says, he could coast to work on<br />
his bike. Goody-B. Wiseman is<br />
an artist liv<strong>in</strong>g and work<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong><br />
Cast<strong>in</strong>e, ME. Her bronze sculptures<br />
will be exhibited over <strong>the</strong><br />
next few months <strong>in</strong> Toronto, Los<br />
Angeles, Miami, and NYC.<br />

Gregg Carville (boys camp ’85–<br />
’88) received a master of f<strong>in</strong>e arts<br />
degree <strong>in</strong> light<strong>in</strong>g design from<br />
NYU’s Tisch School of <strong>the</strong> Arts<br />
and is now <strong>the</strong> technical director<br />
for Merrill Auditorium and <strong>the</strong><br />
City of Portland, ME. Elise<br />
Elliott-Smith studied birds and<br />
works <strong>in</strong> Oregon for <strong>the</strong> U.S.<br />
Geological Survey. She organizes<br />
large-scale monitor<strong>in</strong>g of shorebirds<br />
of conservation concern,<br />
“no doubt due <strong>in</strong> a large part to<br />
my field biology class at<br />
<strong>Chewonki</strong>,” she writes. Hilary<br />
Trenkamp Greenwood lives <strong>in</strong><br />
Zurich, Switzerland, with her<br />
husband and <strong>the</strong>ir son Bryn.<br />
