Gates Slocum (boys camp staff<br />

’00) married Jason Slocum, whom<br />

she met at Bowdo<strong>in</strong> College, <strong>in</strong><br />

June ’08. Jason attends Harvard<br />

Bus<strong>in</strong>ess School, and Callie works<br />

at New Profit, a venture philanthropy<br />

firm <strong>in</strong> Cambridge.<br />

Carol<strong>in</strong>e Clark Sterkel got<br />

married <strong>in</strong> Vail, CO, <strong>in</strong> July ’08.<br />

She still teaches and leads hut<br />

trips at Vail Mounta<strong>in</strong> School.<br />

Liz Tunick f<strong>in</strong>ally left New York<br />

and is back <strong>in</strong> New England,<br />

gett<strong>in</strong>g a master’s degree <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

history of art at Williams College.<br />

After liv<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> Guatemala,<br />

Marissa Vahls<strong>in</strong>g returned to <strong>the</strong><br />

U.S. by rid<strong>in</strong>g a bicycle through<br />

wellness. Allie Silverman has<br />

issues <strong>in</strong> Chile. “It would be great<br />

made aware of an absurd megahydroelectric<br />

scheme slated for<br />

Patagonia,” writes Allie. “This<br />

project would not only destroy<br />

<strong>the</strong> beauty, ecological value, and<br />

uniqueness of Chilean Patagonia<br />

but also set a precedent for unsusta<strong>in</strong>able<br />

energy development <strong>in</strong><br />

(Wilderness Trips ’98, ’99) lives<br />

<strong>in</strong> Santa Monica, CA. She and<br />

Alexander White work at <strong>the</strong><br />

134-ft. schooner Altair from<br />
