"Esme means no harm," he tells me reassuringly. "According to your dad, Charlie's
new girlfriend has her feeling a little insecure."
"My uncle Charlie?"
"Do you know more than one?"
"No, I mean. I'm just shocked you said he has a girlfriend is all." My uncle Charlie—
who's also my godfather—is a trip. Where my dad has the classic blond hair, blue
eyes, and handsome 'boy next door' look—Rosalie looks just like him in case you're
wondering—my uncle Charlie, his younger brother, has the whole 'tall, dark, and
handsome' thing down pat. I take after that side of the family.
"Oh, but it was." He laughs. "I don't think he meant any harm by it, and I'm sure he
wasn't trying to flirt with her. He was probably just appreciating the craftsmanship."
I punch his shoulder. "Don't be a pig."
"What? I'm just saying. Your dad's a plastic surgeon. He was probably legit just
commenting on them."
"Okay, that's enough out of you." I don't like thinking of all the breasts my dad sees
or him commenting on them. However, I am intrigued. I need to meet this Renee.
"Alright, let's call this meeting to order."
