"Yeah, but . . . that's the thing. It's you and me, and we're . . ." I waved my hands at
our naked bodies.
"Do you want to stop?"
"Of course not. I just . . . I'm scared this is going to change everything between us."
"It doesn't have to." He shrugged. "Not if we don't want it to. If any two people can . .
. ya know, and bounce back it would be us."
"I think it's okay now."
"Huh?"
"The floor." He chuckles, nodding to where my hand is moving in a persistent circle
over the now dry area.
"Oh, right."
Laughing, he stands up, pulling me with him. "So, I'm ready whenever you are."
"I'm ready," I rush out. "I got a nice evening planned."
"Well don't get any ideas, miss missy. I don't put out on the first date."
"So, tell me about yourself," I start and Edward barks out a massive laugh. We were
pretty quiet on the short drive to Dale's, his favorite restaurant, but now we're seated
at a table, I felt it was time to begin proper first date etiquette.
"I'm turning twenty-five in a couple of weeks," he says pointedly and I chuckle. I
already have his gift. "I graduated college about three years ago. I have a two-year
old son."
I fight the urge to reply with a cheesy 'so do I!' instead, I just nod. "What's his mom
like?"
He snorts. "She's kinda crazy to be honest."
I can't help but laugh. This whole thing is a little crazy.
