desde Madrid a Los Ángeles. Iberia acercaba
así la costa oeste norteamericana y

en Hawai; San Francisco, Santa Bárbara,
San Diego, San José, Fresno y Sacramento,
en California; a Las Vegas, en Nevada; y
Phoenix, en Arizona.

Brazilian city of São Paulo are to
be added to the three non-stop
services per week to Miami that
Iberia has been operating since the
end of March. With these Iberia
transatlantic flights, and thanks to
the oneworld alliance, Barcelona is
now connected with more than 15
destinations in the Americas.
On 28 March, Terminal 1 at
Barcelona’s El Prat Airport was the
setting for the inauguration of
three non-stop flights (on Tuesdays,
Fridays and Saturdays) to Miami.
Thanks to Iberia’s agreements
with American Airlines and the
Taca Group, Barcelona thus
became connected with the cities
of Houston and Dallas in Texas,
miami
Orlando, Tampa, Key West, Pensacola,
Fort Mayers and Tallahassee in Florida,
Norfolk in Virginia, San Juan in Puerto
Rico, Mexico City and Cancún in Mexico,
Managua in Nicaragua, San Pedro Sula
in Honduras, and Panama City.
The Miami route is covered with
Airbus A340/300 aircraft that hold 254
passengers. The flights depart from
El Prat at 13:30 and land in Miami at
18:10. From Miami, departure is at
19:45 and arrival at Barcelona at 11:00
the next day. Iberia expects to carry
53,000 passengers on this route by
December, and is offering triple Iberia
Plus points until 31 May for tickets
purchased via iberia.com.
Iberia has meanwhile inaugurated a
new VIP lounge at Miami Airport with
room for 120 guests.
Flights to São Paulo
On 19 June, Iberia is to commence its
Los ángeLes
sao pauLo
service to São Paulo from Barcelona.
Two non-stop flights a week
(Wednesdays and Sundays) will depart
at 21:00 on an overnight journey that
allow passengers to rest during the trip.
The return flights from São Paulo will
depart at 13:50.
Airbus A340/300 aircraft with 254
seats, 36 of them in Business Plus Class,
will be used on this new route, which
connects São Paulo via Barcelona with
the Iberia Regional Air Nostrum and
Vueling networks.
Brazil has become a very important
destination for Iberia, with new routes
inaugurated last February from Madrid
to Fortaleza and Recife. Three flights
a day to São Paulo and one a day to
Rio are also available from the Spanish
capital on a seasonal basis.
And to Los Angeles from Madrid
On 28 March, at the same time
as flights commenced from
Barcelona to Miami, a new
service from Madrid to Los Angeles

Iberia brought the West Coast
of the USA a little closer, and
made it possible for passengers
to fly on to nine other American
destinations thanks to agreements
