CHEF&HOTEL / marzo 2012 36 - chef<strong>and</strong>hotel.cl Hoy en día el turismo de lujo está enfrent<strong>and</strong>o nuevos retos debido a los fuertes cambios que está dem<strong>and</strong><strong>and</strong>o una nueva generación de clientes, huéspedes entre 30 y 45 años que en hotelería no manifiesta fidelidad a las marcas que un día siguieron sus progenitores, ni siquiera la generación anterior, gente influenciada por las redes sociales, internet u opiniones de otros viajeros. Sin duda este nuevo actor que busca la experiencia, lo auténtico, respeto por el entorno y la naturaleza, convive con el viajero de lujo maduro, que busca satisfacciones más inmateriales, y el turista que proviene de mercados como el asiático o latinoamericano. Hoy en día existe una significativa dem<strong>and</strong>a de lujo que no es la típica, la cual tiene una sofisticación más moderna. También está el cliente del mercado emergente cuyo destino es Marbella, donde van europeos del Este o los nuevos ricos de China, quienes quieren consumir mucha marca. <strong>El</strong> concepto de lujo ha ido cambi<strong>and</strong>o en cada persona. Cu<strong>and</strong>o alguien por primera vez tiene acceso a productos de lujo, valora mucho el aspecto material y el prestigio que eso le entrega. Es el luxury 1.0. del brillo que caracteriza a los millonarios de Rusia, Oriente Medio, etc., que consumen productos como el Burj <strong>El</strong> Arab, ostentosos autos, relojes y yates. Cada uno ha ido seleccion<strong>and</strong>o los productos <strong>Hotel</strong>ería de lujo Lo que buscan los nuevos huéspedes Una nueva generación de jóvenes huéspedes está busc<strong>and</strong>o, en el producto de lujo hotelero, cambios en el tipo de servicio, en los espacios que los hoteles brindan y en su entorno. Gente emergente que definitivamente está marc<strong>and</strong>o nuevos rumbos en la alta industria turística de lujo por su calidad y gustos personales. Pero este tipo de consumidores ha madurado y se ha dado cuenta que el verdadero lujo es leer un libro en plena naturaleza, ver una puesta de sol desde un lugar especial o vivir alegres momentos junto a su familia. <strong>El</strong> lujo no es solamente algo material, también es una cuestión emocional donde se viven gratas e inolvidables experiencias. Hoy se está en el mundo del luxury 2.0., el de los países de Europa Occidental, USA, Japón, etc. Hay algunas cadenas que están siendo iniciadoras de este nuevo concepto, algunas marcas de hoteles de lujo con encanto, como Relais & Châteaux, o Rusticae, que no sólo venden camas confortables sino gratas experiencias. Relais & Châteaux por ejemplo, desarrolla las routes du bonheur (caminos de la felicidad), donde los hoteles sólo son un playground o terreno de juego, para vivir momentos inolvidables: una cena romántica o un descanso junto a la chimenea. Aunque una cadena cumpla con los más altos niveles, el objetivo ya no está en lo material, sino en lo emocional. De hecho un hotel en la India está acondicionado como un campo de carpas que se traslada de acuerdo a las migraciones de los tigres, las que están equipadas con todo el confort y el mejor servicio, y aunque no se pueden comparar con un hotel tradicional, los clientes pagan 500 euros la noche por vivir esa experiencia.
