Joliet 86 District Mission Statement Joliet Public Schools District 86 will partner with our community to create a safe and innovative instructional environment to empower all students to become lifelong learners, responsible citizens, and productive members of society. Joliet 86 District Vision “Students Today Learners for Life” SCHOOL HOURS Office Opens Faculty Arrive Classes Begin Lunch/Recess Student Dismissal Office Closes 8:00 a.m. 8:20 a.m. 9:00 a.m. 11:20 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. 3:10 p.m. 4:30 p.m. School hours are from 9:00 a.m. until 3:10 p.m. each day. Children should not arrive earlier than 8:50 a.m. or remain on school grounds later than 3:10 p.m. unless they are participating in a scheduled supervised after school activity. In order to participate in extracurricular activities children must have a permission slip signed by a parent/guardian. Doors will not open until 8:50 a.m. each school day except for breakfast students. Supervision WILL NOT be provided for students who arrive at school before 8:50 a.m. or remain later than 3:10 p.m. If this scenario occurs more than (3) times the Department of Child and Family Services may be contacted. EARLY DISMISSAL TIME On Institute Days or School Improvement Days students have an early dismissal time of 12:15 p.m. All students must be picked up promptly at 12:15 P.M. Page5
