*Actions may not occur in the above mentioned order depending upon the situation.<br />

DETENTIONS<br />

Student may be detained after <strong>school</strong> for disciplinary and counseling purposes. When this<br />

is necessary, a one (1) day (or more) notice will be given in order that the parents may<br />

make arrangements for student’s transportation. The staff member issuing the notice will<br />

establish the length of time for detention.<br />

SUSPENSIONS<br />

Students may be referred to the office for counseling or misbehavior. Students who are<br />

repeatedly sent to the Principal’s office for discipline may receive an In-School suspension<br />

or an Out of School suspension. When a student exhibits gross disobedience or misconduct,<br />

suspensions will be enforced for a period of up to ten (10) days. (Infractions that can result<br />

in suspension can be located under the Acts of Misconduct and Consequences section.)<br />

EXPULSIONS<br />

When a student commits a serious act of misconduct or repeated instances of misconduct a<br />

referral for an expulsion hearing will be made. A student can be expelled for a period of up<br />

to two years if appropriate procedures are followed.<br />

BUS CONDUCT<br />

As parents, you are an important part of the total safety program for your child. Children<br />

need to be safe riders when they are on the bus. Please help us reinforce the stated rules to<br />

ensure the safety of all students. Students must ride their assigned bus to and from <strong>school</strong>.<br />

If for any reason your child is not to ride the bus, please send a note with your child in the<br />

morning.<br />
