Instructions to authorsAims and ScopeBouteloua is an international journal <strong>de</strong>voted to ornamental plants, gar<strong>de</strong>ns and other topics onbotanical, ecological or related scientific or technical aspects including ornamental plant species withinvasive behaviour. Not purely scientific or technical contributions may also be consi<strong>de</strong>ring by theeditorial board. Please, contact for further <strong>de</strong>tails.Journal structure and sectionsResults of scientific research are published as ‘scientific papers’ and should inclu<strong>de</strong> at least 2 printedpages.The sections inclu<strong>de</strong>:1. “Short communications”, in which results of scientific work, <strong>de</strong>scriptions of new species orwhatever other kind of information that merits publication may be inclu<strong>de</strong>d, without exceeding 2printed pages,2. “Cultivars”, in which commercialised cultivars are cited or <strong>de</strong>scribed,3. “Historical botanical gar<strong>de</strong>ns”, inclu<strong>de</strong>s articles referring to any aspects of historical gar<strong>de</strong>ns,4. “Book reviews”, in which reviews of historical or recent publications <strong>de</strong>aling with ornamentalplants or other topics that fall within the scope of the journal may be inclu<strong>de</strong>d,5. “Botanical drawings, Iconography”, in which previously unpublished illustrations of cultivatedplant species may be inclu<strong>de</strong>d.Review processThe editorial board, assisted by at least two specialised referees <strong>de</strong>signed for each potentialcontribution, will <strong>de</strong>ci<strong>de</strong> whether to accept or reject a manuscript.Manuscript format and styleThe scientific papers should be processed in Microsoft Word, for Windows (in Times New Roman,10), and should be send to revista<strong>bouteloua</strong>@hotmail.com. The accepted languages are Spanish, Englishand French, and must inclu<strong>de</strong> a running title, name (-s), address (-es) of author (-s), abstracts in Englishand Spanish (not exceeding 250 words), introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion,acknowledgements (if appropriate), and references. Citation of multi-author literature within the main textwill be provi<strong>de</strong>d in the following formats:*For two authors: Irish & Irish (2000), or (Irish & Irish, 2000).*For three or more authors: Rivera & al. (1997) or (Rivera & al., 1997) when appropriate.In the list of references only those that have been quoted in the text should be inclu<strong>de</strong>d. Fullreferences must be given, including author (-s), date in parenthesis, full title of the paper, full name ofperiodical in italic, volume and first and last page of the paper. Please, check that all the references citedin the text have been properly inclu<strong>de</strong>d in the list, and vice versa. Examples of citation:Books: FREIXA, C.
