TEMA 5: AMAR COMO ÉL AMAb) El buen samaritano (Lc 10, 25-37)Texto <strong>de</strong> apoyo: Amar a los enemigos (cf. Lc 6, 27-36)Al respon<strong>de</strong>r a <strong>la</strong> pregunta que le dirigió el doctor <strong>de</strong> <strong>la</strong> ley -“¿Qué <strong>de</strong>bo hacer <strong>para</strong>heredar <strong>la</strong> vida eterna?”-, Jesús se fijó en el pacto <strong>de</strong> corazones firmado entre Dios y supueblo en tiempos <strong>de</strong> Moisés:“Amarás al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón… y ama a tu prójimo como a ti mismo.”Amar, tanto a Dios como al prójimo, es indispensable <strong>para</strong> vivir en amistad con Dios.El buen samaritano ilustra muy bien esta ley <strong>de</strong>l amor. Su misericordia abarca hasta a uncompleto <strong>de</strong>sconocido que se hal<strong>la</strong> en necesidad, no excluye a nadie por motivos <strong>de</strong>prejuicios, <strong>de</strong>sagrado o impureza ritual como por aquel entonces <strong>de</strong>finía <strong>la</strong> Torah, <strong>la</strong> Ley.Cuando el doctor <strong>de</strong> <strong>la</strong> ley judía dirigió a Jesús <strong>la</strong> pregunta “¿Y quién es mi prójimo?”suponía que entre sus prójimos no <strong>de</strong>bería contar a los pecadores, a los extranjeros y a losimpíos. Jesús le enseñó que <strong>de</strong>bía ampliar su concepto <strong>de</strong> “prójimo” <strong>para</strong> que incluyera,por lo menos, a todos aquéllos que se encontrara en su camino, especialmente losnecesitados. Llegado el momento, Jesús ampliaría el horizonte <strong>de</strong> sus discípulos <strong>para</strong> queincluyeran a todos los miembros <strong>de</strong> <strong>la</strong> humanidad como prójimos suyos.78
EDIFICADOS Y ARRAIGADOSS EN CRISTO, FIRMES EN LA FEEl samaritano actuó “movido por compasión”. Los samaritanos y los judíos se teníanpor enemigos mutuamente, <strong>de</strong> modo que el samaritano puso en peligro su propia vida porayudar a un herido <strong>de</strong>sconocido.Jesús le dio <strong>la</strong> vuelta a <strong>la</strong> pregunta <strong>de</strong>l doctor <strong>de</strong> <strong>la</strong> ley cuando inquirió a éste: “¿Quiénte parece que fue prójimo <strong>de</strong>l que cayó en manos <strong>de</strong> los salteadores?” Con esto Jesús nosestá intimando a que nos p<strong>la</strong>nteemos nuestras propias preguntas: “¿A quién puedo amar?¿A quién tengo <strong>la</strong> oportunidad <strong>de</strong> amar hoy?”. Como enseñaba <strong>la</strong> Madre Teresa <strong>de</strong>Calcuta, cada oportunidad que tenemos <strong>de</strong> amar a alguien es un don <strong>de</strong> Dios. Y es que e<strong>la</strong>mor <strong>de</strong>sinteresado nos hace gran<strong>de</strong>s, nos hace semejantes a Jesús.El buen samaritanoLc 10, 25-37Un maestro <strong>de</strong> <strong>la</strong> ley fue a hab<strong>la</strong>r con Jesús, y <strong>para</strong> ponerle a prueba le preguntó:–Maestro, ¿qué <strong>de</strong>bo hacer <strong>para</strong> alcanzar <strong>la</strong> vida eterna?Jesús le contestó:– ¿Qué está escrito en <strong>la</strong> ley? ¿Qué lees en el<strong>la</strong>?El maestro <strong>de</strong> <strong>la</strong> ley respondió:–‘Ama al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón, con toda tu alma, con todas tus fuerzas ycon toda tu mente; y ama a tu prójimo como a ti mismo.’Jesús le dijo:–Bien contestado. Haz eso y tendrás <strong>la</strong> vida.Pero el maestro <strong>de</strong> <strong>la</strong> ley, queriendo justificar su pregunta, dijo a Jesús:– ¿Y quién es mi prójimo?Jesús le respondió:–Un hombre que bajaba por el camino <strong>de</strong> Jerusalén a Jericó fue asaltado por unosbandidos. Le quitaron hasta <strong>la</strong> ropa que llevaba puesta, le golpearon y se fueron <strong>de</strong>jándolomedio muerto. Casualmente pasó un sacerdote por aquel mismo camino, pero al ver alherido dio un ro<strong>de</strong>o y siguió a<strong>de</strong><strong>la</strong>nte. Luego pasó por allí un levita, que al verlo diotambién un ro<strong>de</strong>o y siguió a<strong>de</strong><strong>la</strong>nte. Finalmente, un hombre <strong>de</strong> Samaria que viajaba por elmismo camino, le vio y sintió compasión <strong>de</strong> él. Se le acercó, le curó <strong>la</strong>s heridas con aceitey vino, y se <strong>la</strong>s vendó. Luego lo montó en su propia cabalgadura, lo llevó a una posada ycuidó <strong>de</strong> él. Al día siguiente, el samaritano sacó dos <strong>de</strong>narios, se los dio al posa<strong>de</strong>ro y ledijo: ‘Cuida a este hombre. Si gastas más, te lo pagaré a mi regreso.’ Pues bien, ¿cuál <strong>de</strong>aquellos tres te parece que fue el prójimo <strong>de</strong>l hombre asaltado por los bandidos?El maestro <strong>de</strong> <strong>la</strong> ley contestó:–El que tuvo compasión <strong>de</strong> él.Jesús le dijo:–Ve, pues, y haz tú lo mismo.79
