4 48 th Apimondia | # CANDIDATO APIMONDIA 2023 Saludo Presidenta Federación Red Apícola Nacional Message President National Beekeeping Network Federation Desde la Federación Red Apícola Nacional F.G. queremos brindarle un fraternal saludo e invitarlos a conocer a nuestra organización, la cadena apícola y el Chile Apícola. En Chile, como en el resto de América y el Caribe, la apicultura es una actividad introducida desde Europa. Al comienzo fue vista como una actividad complementaria e incluso un hobby. Sin embargo, con el correr del tiempo y el desarrollo productivo agropecuario del país, la apicultura comienza a tomar un rol más preponderante. Las características geográficas y climáticas de nuestro país propician las condiciones de atomización de los productores, por lo que cerca del 70% de la apicultura nacional es desarrollada por productores de la Agricultura Familiar Campesina e Indígena. Estos se encuentran distribuidos a lo largo y ancho del territorio, siendo el 30% restante cubierto por productores medianos y grandes empresarios apícolas, por lo que predominan las relaciones de trabajo de tipo familiar. Nuestra Federación surge en 1999 de la necesidad de representar a los apicultores de distintos puntos del país y mayoritariamente a los productores de la Agricultura Familiar Campesina e Indígena. Desde nuestro origen, hemos puesto énfasis en desarrollar una apicultura profesional y sustentable, definiendo entre sus roles la representación, defensa, propuesta y negociación. Ellos sustentan nuestra interacción con los otros actores de la cadena apícola nacional, manteniendo diálogos permanentes con la institucionalidad y el mundo privado tanto del mundo apícola como de la actividad silvoagropecuaria, donde se ha trabajado junto a otros integrantes de la cadena para posicionar a la apicultura como un factor estratégico en la producción silvoagropecuaria del país. Nuestro trabajo dirigido a la constante profesionalización del rubro nos ha llevado a desarrollar acciones conjuntas con la cadena apícola nacional e internacional, así como instituciones del Estado, universidades, empresa y exportadores. Este trabajo apunta tanto a fortalecer el manejo sanitario y nutricional como el cumplimiento de altos estándares de calidad de los productos de la colmena, lo que ha permitido diversificar la producción apícola con mieles diferenciadas, propóleos, polen, toxinas, material genético como O ur Federation, the National Beekeeping Network, extends to all of you our warm greetings, and invites you to learn about our organization, the beekeeping chain and the Apiculture of Chile. In Chile, as in the rest of the Americas and the Caribbean, apiculture is an activity introduced from Europe. In the beginning, it was considered a complementary activity, and even a hobby. At the start, beekeepers worked with rustic hives, which gradually, and due to the need to professionalize the activity, were replaced by the introduction of Langstroth hives. The geographical and climatic characteristics of our country contribute to a wide dispersion of the beekeepers, and 70% of the national production is carried out by people belonging to the family and indigenous agriculture sectors, located all over the country. The remaining 30% corresponds to medium and large-scale beekeepers, and beekeeping entrepreneurs. Therefore, family-type work relationships predominate. Our Federation emerged in 1999 as a necessity for representing the beekeepers from different parts of the country, especially those belonging to the family and indigenous sectors. From the beginning, we have put emphasis on the development of sustainable and professional apiculture, and have defined our role as one for representation, defense, generation of proposals and negotiation. These have been our guidelines for interaction with other actors of the national beekeeping chain, and for maintaining a permanent dialogue both with government institutions and with the private sector. This collaboration exists in the field of apiculture and also in agriculture, silviculture and livestock raising, and we have been working with these areas to position apiculture as a strategic factor for agrosilvicultural production in the country. Our work, directed towards a constant professionalization of the activity, has generated actions in coordination with the national and international beekeeping chains, government institutions, universities and research centers, enterprises and exporters. Además, ayuda a generar espacios de encuentros bienales –los Congresos Apícolas- que facilitan el intercambio de conocimientos entre apicultores de distintos países. Asimismo, somos 48° de Apimondia.
