dans la province du nord de l’Argentine, les descendants des guarani subissent
depuis des années une répression de la part de la raffinerie de sucre san Martín
del Tabacal. En 1996, le nouveau propriétaire – la multinationale seaboard
corporation - a licencié 6 000 employés. l’éviction en masse qui en a résulté
a poussé 150 familles d’ouvriers et de paysans à s’organiser pour récupérer
leurs terres. des séquences animées d’une bataille entre un tigre et un taureau
décrivent l’ultime combat du peuple Guarani contre l’entreprise multinationale
pour regagner le contrôle de ses terres ancestrales.
in the northern province of argentina, descendants of the original people of
the land, the guarani, have for years suffered displacement and repression at the
hands of the sugar refinery san Martín del tabacal. in 1996 the new owner – the
Multinational seaboard corporation - fired 6000 employees. the mass eviction
that ensued provoked over 150 families of workers and peasants to organise to
recuperate their lands. animated sequences of a fight between a tiger and bull,
depict the guarani people battle the multinational corporation in the ultimate
struggle to gain back control of their ancestral lands.

Lorena Riposati est diplômée en communications de l’Université de Buenos Aires et
professeur. Elle a travaillé comme réalisatrice, monteuse, directeur photo et camérawoman
sur des documentaires qui relatent diverses luttes sociales en Amérique
latine. son premier long métrage, We Want our Land, a été sélectionné dans plus de
20 festivals.
lorena riposati is undergraduated in communication science, university of Buenos aires
and university professor. in the last years she worked on different documentaries that
show the different latin-american social fights. We Want our Land which is her first fulllength
documentary film has been selected in more than 20 festivals.
