Dès la fin des années 80, la galerie Claire Gastaud présente des expositions<br />
d’artistes historiques de l’art contemporain issus des mouvements<br />
de la Figuration Narrative (Henri Cueco, Peter Klasen, Erro, Bernard<br />
Rancillac), Support-surface (Claude Viallat), de la Figuration libre<br />
(Robert Combas, Rémi Blanchard), de la photographie plasticienne<br />
et du Land Art (Georges Rousse, Nils-Udo, Dennis Oppenheim). La galerie<br />
Claire Gastaud s'est également attachée à soutenir et promouvoir des<br />
artistes émergents comme Jean-Charles Eustache, Samuel Rousseau<br />
(nommé au prix Marcel Duchamp 2011) ou Anne-Sophie Emard en organisant<br />
des expositions, en menant une politique d'acquisitions et en se rapprochant<br />
des institutions culturelles. Les choix sont guidés non par la fidélité<br />
à une école ou une période mais plutôt par affinités esthétiques ce qui<br />
explique la présence de courants très divers et l'introduction de graphistes<br />
(comme le duo Antoine+Manuel), de photographes, de sculpteurs<br />
(Roland Cognet) ou de plasticiens travaillant la vidéo et les arts numériques.<br />

From the years 86, the gallery Claire Gastaud was the theater of numerous<br />
personal or collective exhibitions. Some big figures were exhibited (Henri<br />
Cueco, Peter Klasen, Erro, Bernard Rancillac, Claude Viallat, Robert Combas,<br />
Rémi Blanchard, Georges Rousse, Nils-Udo, Dennis Oppenheim). But the line<br />
of the gallery Gastaud does not limit to make known values sure of<br />
international fame, she also attempts to support and to promote confirmed<br />
artists but still little recognized as Anne-Sophie Emard, Jean-Charles<br />
Eustache or Samuel Rousseau (artist nominated for the 2011Prix Marcel<br />
Duchamp) by organizing exhibitions, by leading a politics of acquisitions<br />
and by getting closer to cultural institutions. Choices were driven not by<br />
the allegiance at a school or a period but rather by aesthetic affinities<br />
what explains the presence of very different currents and the introduction<br />
of sculptors (Roland Cognet), video artist or graphic designers<br />
(Antoine+Manuel) within the group of the gallery.<br />
