Convaincu que nous sommes désormais entrés dans l’âge postphotographique<br />
où le numérique a élargi à l’infini les possibilités<br />
de manipulations et de représentation du monde, Xpo Gallery s’est donné<br />
pour mission de commenter cette nouvelle ère de comparaison et<br />
de références. C’est donc logiquement qu’Xpo Gallery, jeune galerie<br />
prospective s’installe dans le quartier de la Gaité Lyrique à Paris,<br />
un quartier cosmopolite et urbain en pleine mutation. La galerie soutient<br />
et défend des artistes ultra exigeants, pluriels et internationaux, souvent nés<br />
après la révolution numérique à la fin du siècle dernier. Elle donne<br />
la primauté aux artistes qui s’interrogent sur la nature humaine devant<br />
ces mutations profondes en organisant des expositions et en participant<br />
à des foires internationales d’art contemporain. L’objectif de la galerie<br />
est de construire une relation à long terme avec les artistes au fur<br />
et à mesure que leur réflexions et maitrise se développe dans le nouveau<br />
contexte d’un marché de l’art en pleine mutation, passé à son tour dans<br />
le régime de la mondialisation. La galerie organise un programme<br />
avec les artistes qu’elle représente et des commissaires invites pour<br />
des expositions. Pour WAF 2012, la galerie présente trois artistes dont<br />
les œuvres mettent en doute notre perception de la réalité.<br />
Convinced that we are now in a post-photographic age in which digital<br />
technology offers an infinite number of ways to manipulate and represent<br />
the world we live in, Xpo Gallery mission is to try to comment on this new era<br />
of comparison, overlays, references, hyper-precision where veracity and reality<br />
gives way to the efficiency of the digital. It is thus only logical that Xpo<br />
Gallery a young gallery should settle into the same vibrant, cosmopolitan<br />
neighborhood as the renowned Gaîté Lyrique (Paris). The gallery supports<br />
and defends hard worker and international artists, born at the end<br />
of the last century, during the digital revolution. Xpo Gallery gives priority<br />
to those artists who question human nature as it is faces deep underlying<br />
changes, organizing exhibitions and participating to international<br />
contemporary art fairs. The objective of the gallery is to build long-term<br />
relationships with artists, working with them as they mature in their artistic<br />
reflection and develop. For our 2012 WAF participation we have brought<br />
together a selection of works from 3 artists that aim at casting doubt on<br />
our perception of reality.<br />
