Checking and lubricating the drive chainTo perform these operations, you must put the motorcycleon the rear stand, upright on a horizontal surfaceand with the gear in neutral.❏ Checking the chain adjustment50 mmWARNING: Before checking the chain adjustment,contact a MV Agusta authorized centreto verify that the value of the static setup ofthe rear suspension is correct. Also makesure that the chain is properly lubricated.The axis of the chain lower portion must be 50 mm fromthe lower chain guard. Manually turn the rear wheel andcarry out the check at several points along the chain. Thedistance between the chain and the lower chain guardmust remain almost constant as the wheel turns. If, onthe other hand, the play on the chain varies considerably,it means that some chain links are flattened, seized orelongated. If the distance is greather than 50 mm, havethe chain adjusted by your local MV Agusta dealer.- 32 -
