MAINTENANCE 1Lubrication - Apply a slight and uniform film oflubricant over the whole length of the drive chain,taking care not to smear the surrounding parts, andin particular the tyres. Direct the lubricant jet on theinternal links, in order to lubricate the surface of theO-Rings and penetrate inside the chain roller.1GBCAUTIONOnly use the lubricant specified in theparagraph 1.4. of this manual, in orderto protect the drive chain and avoid oilspurts when the vehicle is in motion.WARNINGChain lubrication must be performedaccording to the intervals specified inthe tables of scheduled maintenance(see § 1.2.). It is also necessary to performthis operation after riding under therain and after cleaning the motorcycle.Riding your motorcycle when the drivechain is in poor condition or improperlyadjusted can lead to accidents.- 35 -
