Living anD expenSeS
According to studyinsweden.se one should account for at
least 7000 SEK per month for living costs. However, larger
cities like Stockholm are usually slightly more expensive.
Sweden is known for
• its music: ABBA, Loreen;
• famous brands: Ikea, H&M, Saab and Volvo;
• and its food: Köttbullar (meatballs) and Knäckebröd.

Less known but still typical Swedish are
• «Midsommar» (the public holiday to celebrate the
longest day of the year);
• Lingon (typical Swedish berries, which are eaten together
with köttbullar).
Before travelling to Sweden you have to consider
If you are coming during winter time, you should be prepared
for little sunlight during daytime.. The summer period (June-
August), on the other hand, is very enjoyable as the sun sets
close to midnight only.
What is the best way to travel to Sweden?
Considering the distance from Luxembourg to Sweden, planes
are probably the best alternative. A few airlines (SAS, Swiss,
KLM, Lufthansa) offer indirect flights from Findel to Stockholm
Arlanda. From the train station at Arlanda airport, you
can continue by train to Uppsala, Göteborg or Lund.
Ryanair offers low cost flights from Frankfurt Hahn or Charleroi
to Skavsta airport (80 minutes from central Stockholm),
and Brussels airlines flies directly at very affordable prices to
Bromma airport, close to the city centre.

Presentation of the society
Created in 2005, LS@SE is one of the youngest and probably
also smallest student societies of the ACEL. Our members are
spread all over Sweden, Luxemburg and Europe. Our aim is
to regroup people from Luxembourg studying in Sweden and
to promote Sweden as a study place amongst Luxembourgish
students. Based on our experience, Sweden offers interesting
opportunities for students looking for high quality and international
education.
Past activities include two New Year’s Eve trips to the polar
circle, organized visits to the Swedish Parliament, and promotion
of Sweden as a study country by publishing several
articles in the national press (cf. www.lsse.lu). We also participated
several times in the Luxembourg student fair and
organized multiple nightlife activities both in Luxembourg and
Sweden.
Since most of our members have already, or are about to
finish their studies, we continue to represent Sweden as an
excellent alternative to the more common study destinations
France, Germany and Belgium. ( Please refer to our homepage
for more information to prospective students). We hope
that a new group of students from Sweden will be able to give
new impulses to our society in the near future. Feel free to
