SUMMARY REPORTTerrain correction is one of corrections in remote sensing data pre processing tominimizations of shadow and curvature of the earth and will be effective if beused in mountainous areas. This correction gives corrected reflectance numbersthat the same for a class of land cover relatively, and classification can be moreobjective so advice to quantities method.LAPAN as a government institution that has remote sensing data competence.LAPAN is doing remote sensing data pre processing as ortho, radiometric, andterrain correction as a part of Indonesia for National Carbon Accounting System(INCAS) program. But the licenses of these are very limited, so that it is neededto study where the processing can be done by existing soft ware. Result of studywill be compared with INCAS because his system that have be approved by theworld.This study is started by to understand about terrain correction, to be continued byderivate sun normal angle algorithm. The algorithm have been verified bycompared it with INCAS result. There are many terrain correction algorithms, butmany researchers said that the best terrain correction use c coefficient for eachband data. C coefficient is determined before terrain correction to be done. Ccoefficient will be got by training sample in the forest area, clear and terrain area.C coefficient will be different between one and each other data.As an add activity has be done to study about c optimum coefficient andalgorithm modification.
