The promotion of young people is a key part of the
HypoVereinsbank’ s corporate philosophy. An
example of this is our “Youth Culture” initiative.
Ever since 1981, the bank has offered young artists
a forum for demonstrating their talents in music,
theatre, film and literature. The merger with Uni-
Credit has produced the first truly European bank.
And a particular concern of the new European
bank is to support and maintain the cultural diversity
of Europe in all European growth areas. Therefore,
wherever we can deploy the resources available
to us as a bank, we want to help make art
and culture accessible to as many people as possible.
This is perfectly exemplified by the Competizione
dell’ Opera, an international singing competition
for Italian opera.
Our commitment to the Competizione dell’ Opera
gives over 500 up-and-coming young singers the
opportunity to appear before a highly distinguished
jury. For the best among them, this will pave the
way to an international career on the most highly
regarded operatic stages in the world, not to mention
the solid foundation provided by cash prizes
of 20,000 euros. True to the observation that
“talent is a priceless gift, but no one can live from
talent alone,” we are proud to be an active partner
of the Competizione dell’ Opera.
