più soft di industrializzazione e di
turismo. Ma selezionare vuol dire
necessariamente fare di un oggetto
di serie un prototipo, di ogni catena
di montaggio un avvenimento, di
ogni scalpellino uno scultore?
Le alternative esistono su questo
piano, come su quello altrettanto
delicato della messa in scena della
vita quotidiana. Oggi è possibile
distinguere, anche come strategia
della conservazione, l'informazione
dall'oggetto che la contiene. Mentre
la perdita di ogni informazione può
davvero mettere in discussione le
memorie dei luoghi e dei suoi abitanti,
la scelta di ciò che può rappresentare
quelle condizioni di vita e
lavoro appare anche solo il riconoscimento
che dietro ogni allestimento,
anche virtuale o diffuso, vi
sono interpretazioni, più o meno
esplicite. È necessario tuttavia, in
una fase tanto delicata, essere molto
chiari. Come la prospettiva di musei
tutti virtuali, negando il valore dell'esperienza,
prospettano un futuro
davvero estraniante, così ogni scelta
espositiva non può che garantire
la possibilità di altre, possibili messe
in scena, al mutare delle interpretazioni
storiografiche.
Le scelte compiute nel dare avvio
ai tanti lavori che oggi arricchiscono
quella che era un'intenzione, sono
tutte dentro la coscienza di queste
difficoltà. Da un lato vi è l'esigenza di
tradurre in informazione e di mettere
in rete il maggior numero di informazioni
possibili, dall'altro ogni scelta
espositiva, necessaria anche solo
per rendere esplicite e quindi criticabili
le scelte di chi ha condotto e
conduce l'analisi, avviene conservando
i materiali di altre, possibili
mostre, che quell'esposizione possano
smentire.
Un lavoro di indagine che non può
che essere sempre in progress,
attento ad ascoltare, a dar voce, a
he is a voice of the chorus: is it truly
thinkable to preserve all the voices of
all the choruses within actual illusions
of the reflections of those societies
that generated them?
The contexts within which these
actions, products and customs have
taken shape are contexts that are
not only "threatened" but also
transformed by the milder forms of
industrialization and tourism.
However, does selecting necessarily
mean turning every mass produced
object into a protoype, every
assembly chain into an event, every
stone-cutter into a sculptor?
Alternatives exist at this level, as they
do on the just as delicate level of the
displaying of daily life. Today it is
possible to distinguish information
from the object that contains it, even
as a strategy of preservation. While
the loss of all information can truly
raise questions about the memories
of locations and of their inhabitants,
choosing what those living and
working conditions may represent
seems only the acknowledgement
that behind each setting up, whether
virtual or diffused, there are more or
less explicit interpretations. However,
during this delicate phase, it is
necessary to be very clear. Just as
the prospect of all museums being
virtual, thus denying the value of
experience, envisages a truly
alienating future, so every expository
choice can only guarantee the
possibility that there may be other
exhibits (representations) with the
changing of historiographic
interpretations.
The choices made in initiating the
many works that today enhance what
was once an intention are all part of
the awareness of these difficulties.
On the one hand there is the need to
translate into information and place
as many data as possible on the
network; on the other hand, every
