La Galleria d’Arte Frediano
Farsetti inaugura la sua stagione
invernale a Cortina d’Ampezzo
con una mostra monografica su
Roberto Marcello Baldessari, in arte
“Iras”, proseguendo così il suo percorso
di avvicinamento al centenario del
Futurismo, iniziato con la mostra
estiva dedicata a Fortunato Depero.
Baldessari
The Frediano Farsetti Art Gallery will inaugurate
its winter season in Cortina d’Ampezzo with a
monographic exhibit on Roberto Marcello Baldessari,
known as “Iras” in the art world. This show represents
a continuation of the gallery’s events leading up to
Futurism’s centennial, which they initiated over the
summer with an exhibition dedicated to Fortunato
Depero.This new show thoroughly documents
Baldessari’s multifarious artistic production and is
divided into four parts – the number that the
organizers of this true artistic event required. The
exhibition begins with the artist’s first phase of “abstract
experimentation”, which lasted from 1914-16 and
is similar to Boccioni’s studies on dynamism and
simultaneity. The second part displays “landscape
and still life” studies, where the figurative element is
still explored through a dynamic approach, similar
to certain experimentations by Ardengo Soffici. The
third section is entitled “synthesis and figure”, while
the fourth and final section focuses on the “dynamic
world”. This exemplary exhibition represents a new
and significant step towards understanding and
valorising one artist from a generation of painters
who were hastily classified by critics for many years
as “Second Futurism”, but which was instead a
generation that marked a fundamental stage in the
Italian Avant-Garde. The exhibit can be visited in
Cortina d’Ampezzo at the Frediano Farsetti Art
