storia e di arte, ognuno capace di<br />
evocare, per la proprietà trans<strong>it</strong>iva<br />
e simbolica dell’immagine,<br />
frammenti di storia sociale e<br />
soprattutto emozioni e sentimenti<br />

Claudio Gobbi’s images cover twentieth century<br />
Europe through the theatres, cinema and<br />
recreational clubs of <strong>it</strong>s cultural cap<strong>it</strong>als. They<br />
however do not show, as often occurs, the<br />
breadth and spaciousness of these principle<br />
environments. Rather they reveal the artist’s<br />
attention to arch<strong>it</strong>ectural detail, interior design<br />
and decorative elements. The photographs,<br />
produced w<strong>it</strong>h an exceptional formal rigour,<br />
give space to an impeccable compos<strong>it</strong>ion of<br />
lines and levels, lights and chromatic scales,
