EDITORIAL Richard Barnes Editor-in-Chief, ITB Berlin News ITB Berlin NOW: the arrival of an exceptional new concept It’s not just a virtual trade show. It’s an entirely new concept. Overall, 3,300 exhibitors from 120 countries are exhibiting with their Brand Cards on the virtual Show Floor of ITB Berlin NOW. A total of 13 themed ITB cafés will let visitors literally mingle with the crowds without leaving their desk. And over the entire four days at the parallel ITB Berlin Now Convention, users can listen to and interact with highprofile speakers giving fascinating and inspirational lectures and discussions about the future of travel. Naturally the event has strong partners at its side. Organisers are pleased to underline the fact that Saxony is the Official Culture Destination. At ITB Berlin NOW, the German region is promoting itself as an outstanding destination for culture and city tourism as well as offering unique nature experiences and adventure holidays. With Georgia, organisers are also delighted this year to have secured a “Digital Adventure and Sustainability Partner” for the first time. In addition to the themed cafés, the ITB Buyers Circle will ensure lively business activity. This is an established feature of the show with 1,000 leading buyers, and this year organisers have received many applications again. For those keen on meeting new people as well as regulars on the platform, the so-called Discovery Graph is worth a try. With the help of a special algorithm and based on user profiles and platform activities, it actively recommends interesting contacts. And one can search and find suppliers thanks to the Lead Finder feature. ITB Berlin NOW’s highly inventive troop of organisers has found innovative solutions to make it possible for everyone in the tourism industry to meet new partners, be inspired by others, do successful business and stay in contact with industry peers ITB BERLIN NEWS is a CLEVERDIS Publication. 65 av.
