CLARK LUMBER CO.

CLARK LUMBER CO. Continued Clark Lumber has five sawmills in two locations: Red Boiling Springs and Lafayette, TN. lantic Trucking delivers all of Clark’s containers of lumber to the railyard in Nashville, TN. From there the containers will be taken by train to the East Coast and shipped from the port in Charleston, SC. From there the containers can go to any port around the world. Some of the containers are bound for the ports of the many countries of Europe while others proceed through the Panama Canal to reach their destinations in Asia, such as China or Vietnam. Some of the equipment the mills are running include Hurdle Machine Works head saws that kick off to Brewco 16- inch horizontal resaws. They also have three stand-alone Hurdle mills that process smaller Hardwood logs. One of the most recent projects Clark Lumber undertook was installing a new Brewco 1600 Head on the re-saw at its Lafayette sawmill location. All of the high grade lumber produced from the Lafayette location is brought to the Red Boiling Springs mill location to be stacked and go through the drying process. Among the equipment used at this facility is a recently installed package maker made by Winston Machinery, located in Lynn, AL. Lumber is dried in nine separate kiln drying chambers made by BOLDesigns Inc., which is located in Lenoir, NC. Clark Lumber has a total dry kiln capacity of 750,000 board feet per charge. Grade lumber is treated with ISK Biocides and lumber is end-coated with U-C Coatings LLC’s Forest Green Paint. The company is a member of the following associations: Kentucky Forest Industries Association, Tennessee Forestry Association, Indiana Hardwood Lumbermen’s Association, National Hardwood Lumber Association and American Hardwood Export Council. n For more information, visit www.clarklumbercompany.com. boldesignsinc.com BOLDESIGNS – DRY KILNS DRY KILNS – ALL SIZES & TYPES FRONT LOAD PACKAGE KILNS HIGH TEMP TRACK KILNS DIRECT GAS FIRED KILNS SMALL PACKAGE KILNS CENTER FAN WALL KILNS FIREWOOD KILNS POLE KILNS LUMBER STEAMERS PO BOX 1586 – LENOIR NC 28645 800–645–7001 42 NOVEMBER 2016 n NATIONAL HARDWOOD MAGAZINE

BIOLUBE Continued from page 21 Biolube prides itself on its efficiency. Barker said, “If it can’t be shipped in a day, you will find Bob or me running around trying to figure out what in the world went wrong.” Barker, who spent almost 20 years running chemical plants for Hexcel, stated that Biolube’s lubricant manufacturing plant is the most efficient chemical plant he has seen. “This plant is truly a gem in the chemical industry,” he said. Biolube’s efficiency enables top-notch service and the company has a track record for achieving its goal of customer satisfaction. “In over 20 years we have never had one quality control issue from a customer. We have never had a product returned because it did not meet needs. We have never had a product returned because something was off on it,” said Barker. Pennycoff added, “We are a service oriented business. It is critical to ship our products. We understand how important it is to ship our products in a timely manner, rianna 2012_Layout 1 12/8/14 11:23 AM Page 2 do what we say we are going to do and for our products to do what we say they are going to do.” Biolube is represented at multiple trade shows and expos throughout the year and is a member of the following associations: National Hardwood Lumber Association; Indiana Hardwood Lumbermen’s Association; Missouri Forest Products Association; Western Saw Filers Educational Association; Lake States Saw Filers Association; Southern Saw Filers Educational Association; Midwest Saw Filers Association; and Southeastern Saw Filers Educational Association. Barker commented that the saw filer events they attend are key for the company because they can talk directly to the head filer or production manager and discuss the specific problems and solutions. “We can talk to him and he doesn’t have to actually do anything. All he has to do is say yes I will give it a try and see what happens and we The lube container shown here is specifically formulated for moulder beds. will send him a sample. We have such confidence in our products that when someone comes up and says they have White Oak pitch build up on their 12-inch wide band saw, we know with 99 percent certainty what the problem is and how to solve it.” n For more information, visit www.biolube1.com. • Top Quality Kiln Dried Hardwood Lumber Rough/S2S • Specializing in 5/4 thru 8/4 Red Oak & White Oak • Also: Ash, Cherry, Hard Maple & Soft Maple • Shipping Mixed Trucks/Containers Worldwide S Sirianni Hardwoods, Inc. 912 Addison Road Painted Post, New York 14870 Telephone: (607) 962-4688 Fax: (607) 936-6237 www.siriannihardwoods.com Sales - Keith@siriannihardwoods.com Purchasing - Tom@siriannihardwoods.com NOVEMBER 2016 n NATIONAL HARDWOOD MAGAZINE 43
