ADRIATIC WOOD PRODUCTS

ADRIATIC WOOD PRODUCTS Continued from page 35 get a lot of requests for small samples, so the customer can approve a particular profile before they do a large job. There are a lot of samples that we do a lot of knifing for in the moulding end of it. On the Hardwood side, they’ll bring us a swatch and we’ll match that lumber.” Also offering antique replications, Grbic said he’s had requests for cross replications for old churches along with a special replication for Coco Chanel. “Coco Chanel had a crystal ball in her residence and they brought us a photo and we manufactured a replica of the ball base, which was displayed in different stores around the world,” he explained. As for future plans, Grbic said Adriatic Wood Products will continue to upgrade their facilities and equipment as the market demands. Adriatic Wood Products is a member of the Architectural Woodworking Institute. n runner Hildebrand 7-6-17_Layout 1 7/7/17 10:21 AM Page 1 Sample mouldings are available at Adriatic Wood Products and through the company’s catalogue. HARTZELL HARDWOODS Continued from page 37 The company continues to grow through acquisition and investment. More recently the company has made significant investments in kiln and air yard capacity at its Kirksville facility, as well as a large expansion to its two automated lumber handling machines and a new 650 HP Hurst boiler at its Piqua facility. Tom Coble, VP of Sales and Marketing, stated that “Hartzell has developed a company culture based on having ‘Pride in Every Board’ to drive focus on our promise to deliver quality products and services to our customers. If it is going to have the Hartzell name on it then it needs to be quality! These recent investments will not only help to keep that promise to our customers but it also lays the foundation for future growth.” Beyond investments in machinery and equipment, Hartzell works tirelessly to invest in its culture and people. Robert Kaebnick, Chief Operating Officer and 6th generation Hartzell Family member who leads and manages Hartzell Hardwoods, had this to say The production line at Hartzell Hardwoods is shown from the back, with equipment by TS Manufacturing. about Hartzell’s people, “We are an American family-owned company that has been in business for over 140 years and I know none of that would have been possible if it weren’t for the incredible people that came before us, the people that I currently have the privilege of working with today, and those to come in the future. While we work hard to have Pride in Every Board we also work hard to have Pride in Every Employee.” There are very few privately held 140-plus year businesses. Hartzell would not have succeeded without maintaining a focus on the future. Coby Short, Director of Procurement, said, “The team has our eyes turned towards the future with plans in motion to expand upon our current facilities, explore external growth opportunities, and open up other divisions within the company to build off our core competencies.” Kaebnick added, “Hartzell is a company with a proud past and a dynamic future. The Hartzell Family is very proud of its legacy and committed to building on it. We are also extremely excited and committed to our future.
