MAIN STAIRS | DECKS 1–8 STUDIO SEM SCULTORI ASSOCIATI SRL ITALY X ITALIAN CARDOSO STONE Studio Sem was established in the 1950s by Sem Ghelardini, and is today recognized as one of the most important sculpture studios in the Tuscany region. The studio has collaborated with artists and sculptors for more than 60 years, to produce marble and granite sculpture of all dimensions. These artists include Henry Moore, Helaine Blumenfeld and many more. When founding Studio Sem, Ghelardini’s vision was to create a studio where young artists could learn and work alongside celebrated modern masters. With Ghelardini’s passion for modern art and abstract forms, Studio Sem has become known as a pioneering and unique sculptor studio. For Viking Sun, Studio Sem has produced a rendition of the rock carvings in Tanum, Sweden—a collection of approximately 600 panels with thousands of prehistoric carvings dating to the Bronze Age near Tanumshede in Bohuslän. Due to the high concentration discovered here, it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994. The most visited of these sites is Vitlycke, consisting of close to 500 figures, among them the famous bridal couple, and around 170 cup marks. 22
