Abstract:
A study on the induction
Traditionally, the induction has been used to justify scientific laws and theories. An inductive
method starts of the experience of particular cases for the generalization or universalization; that is, the
conclusions are more including than the premises, objectifying, for the inductivist as Bacon, a clear
enlargement of the knowledge; however, this matter is not consensual, therefore in the investigation of
the calls "general truths", from an inexact number of observed cases, the inference for the too much cases
can be illegitimate, denoting a fallibity of the method. Therefore, for the critics of the inductivism, as
Hume and Popper, the conceptual failures to the principle of the induction cannot prove a scientific
theory, from there to have appeared the call "problem of the induction" that we will present in this article
through the conceptual approach of all its basement, origin and solutions presented for consecrated
philosophers.
