<strong>Nano</strong>Focus AG was founded <strong>in</strong> 1994 by specialists from the fields of optics, electronics and<br />

software. The company is based <strong>in</strong> Oberhausen, <strong>Germany</strong>. <strong>Nano</strong>Focus AG develops, produces<br />

and sells Optical 3D Measurement Systems for precise surface metrology <strong>in</strong> the micrometer<br />

and nanometer range.<br />

<strong>Nano</strong>Focus AG technology pursues the <strong>in</strong>dustrial trend of <strong>in</strong>creas<strong>in</strong>g m<strong>in</strong>iaturization. <strong>Nano</strong>Focus<br />

products are therefore used <strong>in</strong> the automobile <strong>in</strong>dustry, mechanical eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g, medical<br />

technology and <strong>in</strong> the electronics <strong>in</strong>dustry.<br />

The measur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>struments are employed both <strong>in</strong> the research laboratory and <strong>in</strong> quality control.<br />

With its own software and hardware, <strong>Nano</strong>Focus provides the user with specific analysis tools to<br />

characterize and evaluate measurement results.<br />

Statistical protocols (SPC) and database-supported automation solutions are available for process<br />

control <strong>in</strong> production sett<strong>in</strong>gs.<br />

3D Multi P<strong>in</strong>hole Confocal microscopy (µsurf-product series,) is a user-friendly and fast way<br />

to capture areas conta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g surface structures without artifacts.<br />

In addition, 3D Scann<strong>in</strong>g Profilometry (µscan-product series) offers up to 100 times the<br />

measur<strong>in</strong>g speed of conventional tactile measur<strong>in</strong>g techniques.<br />

Both product series <strong>in</strong>clude cost-effective standard systems, as well as modular solutions. On the<br />

basis of the two ma<strong>in</strong> product l<strong>in</strong>es, <strong>Nano</strong>Focus specializes <strong>in</strong> several special systems for specific<br />

<strong>in</strong>dustrial applications, such as stereo blade <strong>in</strong>spection or monitor<strong>in</strong>g eng<strong>in</strong>e cyl<strong>in</strong>der <strong>in</strong>ner<br />

surfaces.<br />

Typical applications:<br />

• surface <strong>in</strong>spection of micro-components (MEMS, microfluidics, dental implants)<br />

• bear<strong>in</strong>g and transmission components<br />

• analysis of functional surfaces (steel plate, dental implants)<br />

• quality control <strong>in</strong> electronic production (IC packag<strong>in</strong>g, solder paste pr<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>g).<br />
