BE AWARE!
YOUR SAFETY IS AT STAKE!
This warning symbol is used throughout this manual and calls for your attention to important safety
warnings. When you see this symbol, read the warning carefully and be alert to prevent personal injury or
death.
Your safety and the safety of those around you depend on how you operate and maintain the backhoe.
Familiarize the location and function of all control levers before operation. Check that all the functions are
working in a safe place before operation. Read these instructions carefully from beginning to end and
ensure that you fully understand the functions of control levers. All devices have threshold values. Ensure
that you know the devices stability and loading features before you start operation. The safety instructions
in this manual do not replace safety standards, national or local regulations. Ensure that your machine is
equipped according to laws and regulations.
In addition to endangering life and physical wellbeing, accidents can cause loss of money and man hours.
Most accidents can be avoided if all persons working with and around the equipment use common sense
and observe basic safety rules.
Apply the following instructions:
1. Read and understand the backhoe and tractor instruction manuals.
2. Note and memorize the safety instructions that are in the operation instructions and on the
machine itself.
3. Use common sense in the everyday operation of the machine. Safety instructions can never cover
all situations. You are responsible to note and avoid dangerous situations.
4. Never exceed the maximum capacity of the machine or part of it. If the machine’s ability to perform
certain task is questionable, don’t do it.
5. Do not rush any learning process or take anything for granted. Familiarize yourself with backhoe
and tractor in good time.
WARNING!
Operating the backhoe
1. Only the operator is allowed on the backhoe while it is operation.
2. Before you start the tractor, make sure all controls are secured or in neutral position.
3. Never operate the backhoe except from the operators’ seat. Do not operate while standing or from
the side of the machine.
4. Keep seatbelt securely fastened. Check seat belt daily, & replace if frayed or damaged. Falling off of
the backhoe is the most common cause of accident with backhoe operation and it can result in
death from being run over or crushed
5. When operating the backhoe, remain at the controls until operation is completed.
6. Never lift or transport a person with the backhoe. Use your backhoe only for digging. Do not use the
boom, dipperstick, swing or stabilizers to lift, push or pull things, as a battering ram, or attach ropes,
chains, etc., to the unit. Use the bucket only for digging.
7. Never leave the tractor unattended with the engine running. Do not allow passengers. When parking
the backhoe, or leaving the seat, always lower the bucket to the ground for safety.
8. Never operate or transport unit with covers or shields removed. Tractor must be equipped with roll
over protecting structure or cab.
9. Practice turning off the engine quickly and stopping the backhoe for emergency situations.
10. Adjust the tractor RPM’s to level suitable for your operational experience. At first set the RPM’s
slow.
11. Never work, stand or walk under raised stabilizers, bucket or any other part of the backhoe unless
secured and locked into position. Lower the bucket and stabilizers when detaching backhoe in order
to improve stability.
