WARNING
Transporting backhoe
1. Never transport the backhoe unless the swing is in lock position. Turn slowly and brake carefully.
2. Be sure to engage the boom lock before transporting backhoe. Failure to do so could cause an
unstable travelling condition.
3. The stabilizers should be set to the narrowest position when the backhoe is being transported on
public roads.
4. Ensure that carrier of the backhoe is on firm ground; all safety devices connected, preventing a fall
of the backhoe and serious injury to people or property.
5. Allow for height of backhoe when transporting backhoe, preventing the unit from catching on low
overhangs or wires.
6. When driving on public roads use safety lights, reflectors, slow moving vehicle -signs, etc., to
prevent accidents. Check with local government for regulations that may affect you.
7. Do not drive close to ditches, excavations, etc.; it could result in cave-in. Drive slowly over rough
terrain.
WARNING
Maintenance
1. Keep the machine clean, maintain and lubricate regularly as recommended.
2. Never make any adjustments to the backhoe while it is running or in operation.
3. Never make hydraulic repairs while the system is under pressure, or the cylinders are under load.
Serious personal injury or death could result.
4. Do not modify the backhoe in any way unless authorized by manufacturer to do so. Unauthorized
modifications could result in equipment damage and/or personal injury.
5. Observe proper maintenance schedules and repairs to keep unit in safe working order.
6. Make sure to use the appropriate personal safety equipment for example helmet, goggles or ear
plugs.
7. Before performing maintenance and adjustments make sure to secure any moving parts. Set the
parking brake, place the gear shift lever in neutral, turn off the vehicle, and remove the key.
8. Do not adjust relief valve setting. This valve is factory set and should be adjusted only by a
qualified service person. Incorrect valve setting could result in equipment damage, and/or personal
injury.
9. Escaping fluid under pressure can have sufficient force to penetrate the skin, causing serious
injury. Before disconnecting lines, be sure to relieve all pressure. Before applying pressure to the
system, be sure all connections are tight and that lines pipes and hoses are not damaged.
10. Fluid escaping from a very small hole can be almost invisible. Use a piece of cardboard or wood,
rather than hands, to search for suspected leaks.
11. If injured by escaping fluid, see a doctor at once. Serious infection or reaction can develop if
proper medical treatment is not administered immediately.
12. Never allow anyone to work under a raised bucket.
13. Never run the tractor engine in a closed building or allow exhaust pipe to come near any
flammable material.
14. Never fill the tractor fuel tank with the engine running. Exercise caution when engine is hot.
15. Lubricate backhoe daily as recommended. Keep all nuts, bolts, screws and hydraulic connections
tight.
16. Use the handholds and step plates when getting on/off the vehicle. Failure to do so could cause a
fall.
17. Make sure all hydraulic hoses and fittings are in good condition and not leaking, twisted, kinked or
frayed before starting the tractor or using the equipment. Before operating equipment, purge any
air in the system by operating all hydraulic controls several times after connecting equipment,
connecting hoses, or doing any hydraulic maintenance.
18. Inspect the vehicle before each time you operate the unit. Check for the need of maintenance or
repairs, and be sure to have them done before using the equipment.
