(Caroline Gipps)In the UK it has been found that where teachers cometogether to discuss performance standards or criteria itbecomes a process of teacher development with wash-backon teaching.It seems that coming together to discuss performance orscoring is less personally and professionally threatening thandiscussing, for example, pedagogy.But discussion of assessment does not end there: issues ofproduction of work follow on and this broadens the scope ofdiscussion and impacts on teaching.
