Plug the other end of power cord into a three-hole, grounded230 volt AC receptacle. See Figure 11.7. Push electric starter button on the switch box to start the engine. Immediately release the button once theengine starts. Continuing to press may damage the electric starter. The electric starter is equipped withthermal overload protection; the system will temporarily shut-down to allow starter to cool if electric starterbecomes overloaded. See Figure 11.8. As the engine warms, slowly move the choke control to OFF position. If the engine falters, restart engineand run with chock at half-chock position for a short period of time, and then slowly rotate the choke intoOFF position.9. When disconnecting the power cord, always unplug from the three–prong receptacle <strong>fi</strong>rst and then fromthe <strong>snow</strong> <strong>thrower</strong>.To Stop Engine1. Move throttle control to SLOW, then to STOP.2. Turn off the ignition key.3. Close ON/OFF fuel lever.It is recommended to run engine for a few minutes (with neither drive nor auger engaged) before stopping tohelp dry off any moisture on the engine.To help prevent possible freeze-up of starter, proceed as follows:- With engine running, pull starter rope with a rapid, continuous full arm stroke three or four times. Pullingthe starter rope will produce a loud clattering sound, which is not harmful to the engine or starter.- Wipe all <strong>snow</strong> and moisture from the carburetor cover in the control levers. Also, move control leversback and forth several times.To Engage Wheel DriveWith the engine running near top speed, move the shift lever into one of the six (6) FORWARD positions or(2) REVERSE positions. Select a speed appropriate for the <strong>snow</strong> conditions that exist.- Squeeze the auger control and the augers will turn. Release it and the augers will stop.- Squeeze the drive control and the <strong>snow</strong> <strong>thrower</strong> will move. Release it and drive motion will stop.- NEVER move shift lever without releasing drive control.To Engage Track DriveWith the engine running near top speed, move the shift lever into one of the six FORWARD positions or twoREVERSE positions. Select a speed appropriate for the <strong>snow</strong> conditions that exist.- Squeeze the auger control and the augers will turn. Release it and the augers will stop.- Squeeze the drive control and the <strong>snow</strong> <strong>thrower</strong> will move. Release it and drive motion will stop.- NEVER move shift lever without releasing drive control.To Engage AugersTo engage the augers and start throwing <strong>snow</strong>, Squeeze the auger control against the left handle.
