Engine MaintenanceWARNING! To prevent accidental start-up, shut off the engine and push the ignition key out beforeperforming any type of engine maintenance.Periodic inspection and adjustment of the engine is essential if high level performance is to be maintenancewill also ensure a long service life. The required service intervals and the type of maintenance to beperformed are described in the table below. Place suitable oil collection container under oil drain plug.3. Remove oil drain plug.4. Tip engine to drain oil into the container. Used oil must be disposed of at a proper collection center.5. Reinstall the drain plug and tighten it securely.6. Refill with the recommended oil and check the oil level, refer to Operation section for instructions.7. Reinstall the oil filler cap/dipstick securely.CAUTION: Thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water as soon as possible after handling usedoil.NOTE: Please dispose of used motor oil in a manner that is friendly to the environment. Take it to a recyclingcenter or other collection center.Oil RecommendationsWhen adding oil to the engine, refer to viscosity chart below. Engine oil capacity is 1.1L. Do not over-fill. Usea 4-stroke, or an equivalent high detergent, premium quality motor oil certified to meet or exceed automobilemanufacturer’s requirements. See figure 15.64

Remove the spark plug boot and use a spark plug wrench to remove the plug. See figure 16.Figure 162. Visually inspect the spark plug. Discard the spark plug if there is apparent wear, or if the insulator iscracked or chipped. Clean the spark plug with a wire brush if it is to be reused.3. Measure the plug gap with a feeler gauge. Correct as necessary by bending side electrode. The gapshould be set to .02-.03 inches (0.60-0.80mm). See figure 16.Kuva 174.
