Genotypic Differences Between Some Clones of Aborescens Willows in Respect to
Ability of Adventitious Roots Formation — Important Factor of Early Diagnosis
in Selection
Summary
From the 21 clones, cuttings in the water culture have been investigated in
the respect of genotypic differences concerning the time of adventitious roots
formation, as well their number, enght and weight performance. It -was also
estimated the correlation between the number of adventitious roots and production
as well as survival on experimental plots with the aim to establish the
possibility of early selection with regards to these properties.
The results have shown the following:
1. Genotypic differences were found between the investigated clones concerning
the time of adventitious roots formation as well their number, lenght
and weight performance. Differences were not only found between the clones
belonging to different species and hybrids but also between the clones belonging
to different provenances.
2. Positive significant correlation between the number of adventitious roots
and productivity, as well the number of adventitious roots and survival was
found for the same clones in the experimental plots.
3. Justified statistically significant correlation between the number of adventitious
roots and productivity as well survival of the same clones in the field
experiments make possible an early diagnosis in selection what significantly reduce
the time for valorization the clones in the field experiments.
