İNANÇLARININ BAZI DEĞİŞKENLER AÇISINDAN İNCELENMESİ:<br />
MATEMATİK VE SOSYAL BİLGİLER ÖĞRETMENLİĞİ ÖRNEĞİ<br />

Öz: Bu çalışmada; öğretmen adaylarının bilimsel epistemolojik inançlarının cinsiyet, sınıf, bölüm <strong>ve</strong> fakülte değişkenlerine<br />
göre farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığının tespit edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Sur<strong>ve</strong>y yönteminin kullanıldığı çalışmada<br />
<strong>ve</strong>ri toplama aracı olarak Pomeroy (1993) tarafından geliştirilen, Deryakulu <strong>ve</strong> Bıkmaz tarafından Türkçeye uyarlanan<br />
Bilimsel Epistemolojik İnançlar ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın örneklemi, Dicle Üni<strong>ve</strong>rsitesi Ziya Gökalp <strong>Eğitim</strong><br />
Fakültesinin ortaöğretim matematik öğretmenliği <strong>ve</strong> ilköğretim sosyal bilgiler öğretmenliği ile matematik öğretmenliği<br />
formasyon programında öğrenim gören toplam 317 öğretmen adayından oluşmaktadır. Araştırmanın sonunda örneklemden<br />
elde edilen <strong>ve</strong>riler nicel bir yaklaşımla betimsel olarak analiz edilmiştir. Yapılan analiz sonuçlarına göre<br />
öğretmen adaylarının geleneksel bilimsel anlayışlarının sınıf, bölüm <strong>ve</strong> fakülte açısından anlamlı düzeyde farklılaştığı<br />
görülmüştür. Bölüm değişkenine göre matematik öğretmeni adaylarının, fakülte değişkenine göre fen fakültesi mezunu<br />
öğretmen adaylarının, sınıf değişkenine göre birinci sınıf öğretmen adaylarının daha yüksek geleneksel epistemolojik<br />
inanca sahip oldukları görülmüştür.<br />

EXAMINING SCIENTIFIC EPISTEMOLOGICAL BELIEFS OF<br />
PROSPECTIVE TEACHERS IN TERMS OF SOME VARIABLES:<br />
MATHEMATICS AND SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHER SAMPLE<br />
Abstract: In this study; it is aimed to determine whether prospecti<strong>ve</strong> teachers’ scientific epistemological beliefs differ<br />
according to variables such as gender, grade, department and faculty. Sur<strong>ve</strong>y method was used in the research. As data<br />
collection tool “scale of scientific epistemological beliefs” de<strong>ve</strong>loped by Pomeroy (1993) and adopted into Turkish<br />
Deryakulu and Bıkmaz was used. The study sample consists totally of 317 prospecti<strong>ve</strong> teachers studying at department<br />
of high school mathematics teaching, social studies teaching and mathematics teacher training program at Dicle Uni<strong>ve</strong>rsity,<br />
Ziya Gökalp Faculty of Education. The quantitati<strong>ve</strong> data obtained from the sample were analysed by descripti<strong>ve</strong><br />
approach. Findings from the research show that traditional scientific beliefs of prospecti<strong>ve</strong> teachers significantly<br />
differentiate in terms of grade, department and faculty. It is obser<strong>ve</strong>d that according to major variable; prospecti<strong>ve</strong><br />
math teachers’, according to the faculty variable; prospecti<strong>ve</strong> teachers graduated from the faculty of science, according<br />
to the grade variable; first grade prospecti<strong>ve</strong> teachers ha<strong>ve</strong> high traditional epistemological beliefs.<br />
