6 th International Conference on Islamic Jurisprudence 2017 (ICIJ2017) “Towards Maqasid-Base Good Governance in Policies and Management from Wasatiyyah Perspective” mainly due to the fiqhi ‘legal positivistic’ framework which is often used to explain issues concerning governance by mostly traditionalist and Islamicist scholars. Humanistic governance based on the preservation of the dignity of human beings, which has been the focal point in Islamic tenets, the inviolability of life, and responsible freedom should be explored and promoted as another alternative voice of the dominating conventional fiqhi ‘legal positivistic’ hegemony. Thus, a new ijtihad (reasoning) in dealing with the subject is absolutely mandatory. This paper will look into a new approach to governance from the ‘consequentialistic’ approach inspired by the general theory of Maqasid al-Shari’ah. This research will explore some conceptual grounds for the exploration by looking into epistemological dimension of governance from Islamic sources and principles through ‘inductive qualitative method’ to critically analyse the texts, as part of the deconstruction of discourse. The main goal is to emphasis that we as Muslims want to make sure that our society is ready for Islamic and shariàh values through the implementation of shariàh value little by little and integrated with modern live . We will measure three aspects, those are Shariàh Economic, Shariàh Norm and law, and Shariàh Cultures. After we measure them, we will discuss that good governance in policies requires the realization of maqasid Shariàh, namely, protection of religion, soul, progeny, and wealth. Using survey method we will find out about the most selected value by society that has implemented or have potential to be implemented. The result of this study is very beneficial especially for a country that has Muslim as majority like Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei Darussalam. We as Muslim now really miss the khilafah era and the golden age of Islam. It is our duty to bring back the light of Islam to the world and to start it we can start by implementing Islamic values in our daily live step by step, this is one of our strategy in spreading Islam (dakwah). 39
