now and the plastered corrugated work done with offset.
The water-based pigment inks used by the Glory
1604 corrugated cardboard CMYK digital printing machine
in response to the many causes of this, provide
affordable production costs and are much more environmentally
friendly than UV ink systems. The machine
being a digital printing machine means savings in the
production processes and costs for pre and post printing
operations. Another important advantage is the almost
non-existent passage time between jobs compared
to conventional printing.
The most important feature that distinguishes the Glory
1604 digital printing machine from the others is that it
can work at high capacity like the conventional printing
machines. The Glory 1604 Digital printing machine can
produce at a rate of 14,400 m² per hour. The production
levels that become meaningless due to the high capacity
need in conventional printing because of the low
production speed and capacity in most digital printing
machines is eliminated in this machine and both systems
are for the most part integrated in one. The HAN-
DWAY Glory 1604 digital printing production speed can
reach a speed in color of 150 m/min, which is a speed
we are definitely not used to hearing in digital printing.
This enables the production items, work variability and
variety to be achieved at digital printing speed with the
same speed of conventional printing production and
without the mold-template switching between jobs. The
printed materials can be up to 1600mm width, 2800mm
length and 11mm thickness.
Under these conditions the buckled corrugated cardboard
that is fed in raw form can be taken out quickly
after printing for use without waiting. This way during
an 8 hour shift at 80% productivity 92 CMYK work switches,
each 1000 m², can be achieved. The conventional
printing system cannot achieve this cycle number and
even if it can with multiple machines, is very costly. The
situation is similar for standard digital printing systems.
Additionally customized data can be created in certain
areas on the box by using the variable printing production
that is a feature of digital printing.
Recent developments have enabled printing on glossy
materials with various additions, not just printing on
pulp based uncoated materials. This enables glossy
materials that printing and corrugated plastering has
been done on, to be produced at affordable costs.
In the corrugated cardboard prints that are generally
overlooked because they are seen as secondary packaging
and the print functionality and existing systems are
not convenient; prints containing security without any
auxiliary and independent function elements like labels
can be created.
It will be possible to see major changes in companies
that will have digital printing within their structures and
these companies will present a different market concept.
In addition to this they will achieve great productivity
in their already existing production techniques.
Their sales concepts will change quite a bit in relation
to production, creating the templates or the business of
the production line will no longer cause weeks of delay in
order deadlines and deliveries can be made right away.
If the company has a sales network, major changes will
also be observed in this network and in target customer
approaches. The potential customers of print producing
companies that could not previously take on corrugated
cardboard jobs due to low consumption levels, will now
be able to demand this product with the new capabilities.
In the market studies projecting the future on all
these criteria we have mentioned, it is expected that the
corrugated cardboard market will grow 6% this year.
Global studies show the corrugated market comprises
34% of the total packaging market and the market that
was 840 billion USD in 2015 is projected to be 1 trillion
USD in 2018 and also the company analyses in the US
market show that annual growth analyses project 18%
of companies will grow 10% and over, 36% of companies
will grow up to 10% and 46% of companies will stay
fixed. In addition to this the single passage digital print
in the US market will accelerate and grow as of 2017.*
This is why digital transformation is unavoidable and it
is possible to see high profitability in suitable structures.
To reiterate, ‘the problem is not just investing in
a machine, it is necessary not to sway from seeing the
issue as an integrated one. In order to experience digital
transformation it is necessary to process it completely
in our minds, set the ultimate goal and to move forward
accordingly, not just to invest in a machine.’ The expectation
from a machine investment that is made with
a consultant compatible to digital transformation is to
achieve the right conditions for this transformation today
and to have the ability to carry this forward into the
future.
