ντιλαμβάνεσαι την αξία μιας στιγμής της
ζωής σου,από το πόσες έντονες αναμνήσεις
απ’ αυτήν υπάρχουν μέσα σου..
Ποιος δε θυμάται τα παιδικά του χρόνια
τον καιρό που πλησίαζε το Πάσχα Ο καιρός είχε την
τιμητική του με τις υπέροχες και ηλιόλουστες μέρες,ενώ
η γη μας μάγευε με τα υπέροχά της χρώματα..Σαν παιδιά
που ήμασταν ξετρύπωναμε από τα σπίτια μας και γέμιζαμε
τις αλάνες και τους δρόμους με τις φωνές μας..Με
λαχτάρα μαζεύαμε ξύλα και ετοιμάζαμε τον Ιούδα,ενώ οι
μεγαλύτεροι έκαναν τις απαραίτητες προετοιμασίες των
ημερών.Καθάριζαν και άσπριζαν τα σπίτια τους,έσφαζαν
το αρνί,πήγαιναν στην εκκλησία,προετοίμαζαν το γιορτινό
τραπέζι και άνοιγαν το σπιτικό τους για να υποδεχτούμε
φίλους και συγγενείς..
Στις μέρες μας ακόμα κάπως έτσι γίνονται όλα αυτά..
Το Πάσχα σηματοδοτεί τον ερχομό της Άνοιξης,η φύση
ανθίζει,ο κόσμος χαλαρώνει τους ρυθμούς του και
όλοι,μικροί και μεγάλοι, περιμένουμε το καλοκαίρι
που εδώ στην Κρήτη άπαντες πιστεύουμε ότι είναι η
καλύτερη εποχή του χρόνου!Τα παραθαλάσσια γραφικά
χωριουδάκια όλου του νησιού από τις πρώτες κιόλας
μέρες του Πάσχα γεμίζουν με τουρίστες-Έλληνες και
ξένους-, οι παραλίες δέχονται σιγά-σιγά τους επισκέπτες
τους και το υπέροχο νησί μας σφύζει από ζωή.
Φίλοι και φίλες μας αναγνώστες και ταξιδιώτες, το Πάσχα
έφτασε και το καλοκαίρι πλησιάζει.Έτσι όπως λάμπει ο
ήλιος, ας λάμψει η αγάπη μέσα μας και ας αφήσουμε την
ψυχή μας να ”αναστηθεί“ μακριά από μίση και κακίες, που
δεν ταιριάζουν με το κλίμα της εποχής!

ou realize the value of a moment of your
life by the quality of memories you have
inside you.
Who doesn’t remember his/her childhood,
when Easter time was near? The weather was
great full of sunny days while the land and the farmlands
were enchanting us with their amazing colors. We were
digging out the house and were filling the streets with
our songs and voices. Wistfully, we were gathering woods
and were preparing the “Iouda”- Ioudas is an old Greek
custom where all the children of a neighborhood gather
woods and put them in a specific point.They also take old
clothes and make a scarecrow which is called Ioudas(is
the name of the man who betrayed Jesus).They put Iouda
on the woods and put fire on it at Easter’s eve. We also
remember our parents clean and paint the house,go to
the church,prepare the festive table and welcome friends
and family for celebrating all together Easter!
Nowadays, there are almost the same customs and
habits.Easter signifies the arrival of Spring,the nature
blossoms,people-old and young- relax their daily rythms
while all of us wait for the summer,the best season of the
year!The seaside picturesque villages of Crete welcome
their tourists-Greek and foreigners-, the beaches welcome
their suimmers and the entire Crete is full of life
and energy!
Dear readers and passengers..Easter is here and summer
is approaching..As the sun shines in the sky,let’s love
shines in our hearts and let’s our souls rise up far away
from hate and badness!
