He AIRPORT IS ALWAYS in a developing phase not
least due to the increasing number of passengers
and various philosophies of the retail store concept in
the airport. It is within this sphere ISC has retrieved a
large number of assignments at Copenhagen Airport.
ISC has been assigned tasks more or less within
everything the passenger meets on his way through
the airport – from the car park and metro to the aircraft.
From the check-in counter, the security check,
odd size luggage handling, the tax-free stores, restaurants
and of course also the terminal building itself –
structural design and mechanical installations – and all
the way out to the concourses ISC has set a mark.
Within the past 5 years ISC has performed a total
rebuilding of the tax-free area which is connected
directly to the new CSC building (Centralized Security
Check) – also an ISC design - containing the security
check. In connection with the rebuilding the mechanical
installations was redesigned and the interior was
updated around the concourses´ tax-free areas in the
rest of the airport.
The special handling of the odd size luggage has been
rationalized and ISC has been in charge of a major
addition for improved handling of this type of luggage
making it much easier for the passengers and not
least for the staff.
Furthermore ISC has been strongly involved in the
rebuilding of Concourse C in order for the handling
of the Non Schengen passengers. Another new addition
to the con is already on the drawing board, where
ISC once more is involved as consultants in a design/
construct overall deliverance with Norisol as main
contractor. The Novia Lounge has also undertaken a
total makeover designed by ISC. Next in line lies an
upgrading of the old SAS Cargo building, now owned
by Copenhagen Airport, which is being divided into
an airside and a landside section in connection with
rental areas.
At Billund airport, where ISC in the 90´s designed the
complete terminal building, we are now involved in
several alterations and modernization involving the
tax-free area, the transit area and the concourses.
At the US Air Force Base in Thule, Greenland, ISC has
during several periods of time been granted an exclusive
design contract. A long line of various interesting
assignments have been solved during the last 5 years,
such as ventilation systems for the big radar installation,
energy optimization of the entire airport, electrical
installations, coastal fortification of landfill areas
as well as other specialized tasks.
ISC wishes to maintain the vision of intensifying the
know-how and expertise of airport installations for future
assignments at other airports and also continues
the profound commitment at Copenhagen Airport. ISC
has entered framework agreements within all technical
disciplines. ISC is ready for take-off anytime with
whatever assignment presented.
