This RIO-model / diorama, with the order number 4346, scheduled for
release in mid-Mai, should be priced at around 90 €.
There is already a seller on eBay taking advance orders…..
As far as the model itself is concerned, one very superficial look comparing
the car and the picture of the model reveals accuracy deficiencies: to start
with, the shape of the front fenders is quite different from the original car on
the photo, and the straight windshield is slanted backwards on the model.
What have we got here?? Is this a FIAT-model with slight modifications (like
the radiator grille) to make it pass for a 1924 Benz?? If not, and if this model
should indeed be a truly new model, it would definitely show a lack of
knowledge of the subject, carelessness, or at the very least sloppiness in the
development.
Conclusion: two thumbs down!!!!!!!

Unglaublich aber wahr: der italienische Modellautohersteller RIO greift wohl
nach den letzten Strohhalmen. Wie sonst kann man eine rationale Erklärung
für die Herstellung eines 1:43 Modells des Benz 11/40 PS von 1924 finden?
An sich wäre das Erscheinen eines Modells dieses Autos Grund zur Freude bei
Sammlern von Mercedes-Benz - Miniaturen.
So allerdings nicht, bitte! Tatsächlich wird dieses Modell zusammen mit der
ebenfalls im Maßstab 1:43 gehaltenen Figur eines soeben (am 20. Dezember
1924) freigelassenen Sträflings angeboten. Ein Aufrührer im Regenmantel,
bekannt unter dem Namen Adolf Hitler, der neben dem Auto steht. Im
Hintergrund, das historische Foto mit dem Landsberger Gefängnistor, am Tag
der Entlasssung aufgenommen.
