Nicholas John is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Communication and Journalism<br />
at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His research interests include new media and<br />
the interface between technology and society. He is currently writing a book that explores<br />
the concept of sharing across a range of social locations, including the internet, sharing<br />
economies, and the therapeutic narrative.<br />
Magnus Lawrie is a graduate student at Edinburgh College of Art, University of Edinburgh.<br />
He is the recipient of the ELMCIP PhD studentship. Since completing a BA (Hons)<br />
in fine art and an MFA in public art, he has been involved in groups concerned with free<br />
software and self-organizing practice. This has involved hackspaces and free media labs in<br />
Scotland and elsewhere in Europe. He was active in establishing the Chateau Institute of<br />
Technology and the Electron Club in Glasgow.<br />
Ronald Maier, PhD, Professor of Information Systems at the School of Management,<br />
University of <strong>Innsbruck</strong>, Austria. He has published articles on knowledge management<br />
(systems) in a number of research journals, books and conference proceedings. His research<br />
interests include data management and business intelligence, flexible and adaptive<br />
business processes, knowledge management and technology enhanced learning.<br />
Claudia Paganini, geboren 1978 in <strong>Innsbruck</strong>, drei Kinder. Studium der Theologie und<br />
Philosophie in <strong>Innsbruck</strong> und Wien. Dissertation sub auspiciis praesidentis im Bereich<br />
Kulturphilosophie. Im Studienjahr 2010/11 Karenzvertretung an der Christlichen Philosophie<br />
in <strong>Innsbruck</strong>. Sie ist derzeit Erika-Cremer-Stipendiatin und arbeitet an einer Habilitation<br />
zur Medienethik.<br />
Julia Rone is a researcher at the Department of Theory and History of Culture, Sofia University<br />
“St. Kliment Ohridski”. Her work focuses on the intersections of visual culture,<br />
new media, and nationalism. She has been a coordinator of the 3-year project ‘New Youth,<br />
New Media, New Causes’, and has participated in such projects as ‘New Mobilizations’<br />
and ‘Media Monitoring Lab’ with analyses of video social networks. Her publications include<br />
“The Ideology of Idiocy” (Seminar BG, platform in the field of Cultural Studies),<br />
“Video Memes as Profanations: Fegelein's Views on Folklore” (Seminar BG), “Vbox7:<br />
Homemade politics” (Media and Politics, anthology).<br />
Klaus Rummler ist Medienpädagoge und Academic & Project Manager am Lehrgebiet<br />
Medienpädagogik und Didaktik multimedialer Lernumgebungen am Fachbereich Erziehungs-<br />
und Bildungswissenschaften an der <strong>Universität</strong> Bremen, Mitglied des Zentrum für<br />
Medien-, Kommunikations- und Informationsforschung (ZeMKI) und Mitglied der London<br />

Katharine Sarikakis is Professor of Media Governance at the Institut für Publizistik und<br />
Kommunikationswissenschaft at the University of Vienna. Prior to that she directed the<br />
Centre for International Communications Research at the University of Leeds, UK. She<br />
