grounds could still be redeveloped. Further voluntary activities
are planned.
Fanta Playground Initiative 2013

The nursery (Bauhaus) in Weimar
celebrates its reopening: Weimar
has a reason to celebrate. Thanks to the redevelopment
measures, the nursery (Bauhaus) playground was rehabilitated:
slides, climbing and swings. This has
been made possible again thanks to the donations
of the Fanta Playground Initiative. Together
with the children, the free space around
the nursery was redeveloped and now serves
as a play/action/extension area.
Coca-Cola staff brightened up the playground
in Fürstenfeldbruck: The "Fanta
Playground Initiative Fever" has captured the
entire Coca-Cola group. In the framework of
the Coca-Cola Soft Drinks Plc local sustainability
weeks, the Coca-Cola staff helped with the redevelopment
of the playground in Fürstenfeldbruck. The grounds
in Abt-Anselm-Straße 10 were brightened up by hardworking
helpers and redeveloped to be suitable for children. Despite the
rainy weather, the staff boldly pitched in: they cleaned the
sand, refurbished the benches, restored the ground, repaired
the palisades and removed graffiti. In addition, the pathways
were cleared and the rubbish was piled up.
The playground was entered into the Fanta Playground Initiative
in spring, but it never managed to be among the top
"100 playgrounds in 100 days" - following the successful
launch of 2012, the Fanta Playground Initiative is supporting
in 2013 100 playgrounds requiring redevelopment for more
spaces for free and creative play. From 4 February 2013,
Fanta is calling upon its partners, nationwide supporters, initiatives
and associations of publicly available playgrounds to
apply for redevelopment support.
After checking the content and completion with the German
Children fund, all correct and accurate applications will be
accepted and the playground will be open to a public vote.
Within 100 days, from 23 April to 31 July 2013, consumers
can vote online to decide which of the 100 playgrounds should
receive a redevelopment grant in the amount of up to 5,000
euros. The redevelopment work will ensue through
the supporter himself and must be completed by
31 April 2014. A requirement is that at least
one module is implemented for free and
creative play.
Note: each postcode (the first 3 numbers)
will be limited to 5 playground applications
("first come, first served"), so that
the chances are evenly distributed nationwide.
