The ecosystems are but a part of an even greater system:<br />
the Earth system, of which <strong>Senckenberg</strong> researchers study<br />
all dimensions and traits. They use radiometric methods to<br />
date the oldest rocks, while micro-fossils and isotope analysis<br />
help them trace the planet’s climatic events. One particular<br />
focus lies in the study of prehistoric humans and the interactions<br />
between the evolution of Homo sapiens and the<br />
