Never Name the Shelf<br />
In Never Name the Shelf untersuchen Tiina Sööt und Dorothea Zeyringer die Idee von Arbeit, die<br />
nicht dem Verlangen nach einem konkreten Resultat nachgibt. Höchst konzentriert verfolgen<br />
die beiden den Arbeitsprozess des Möbelaufbauens und verschieben dabei den Fokus vom<br />
eigentlichen Ziel dieses Vorgangs, dem fertigen Objekt, hin zu den Bewegungsabläufen des<br />
Zusammensetzens. Jeder Handgriff wird in sprachliche Instruktionen übersetzt und macht die<br />
Nähe zwischen Arbeit und ArbeiterIn deutlich spürbar. Ein choreografierter Arbeitsablauf, der<br />

In Never Name the Shelf, Tiina Sööt and Dorothea Zeyringer examine a notion of work which<br />
does not comply with the desire for a concrete result. The two of them observe the working<br />
process of assembling furniture with the utmost concentration and in the process shift the focus<br />
from the real aim of the procedure – the completed object – toward the sequences of movement<br />
for assembly. Each hand movement is translated into linguistic instructions and makes the proximity<br />
between work and worker clearly noticeable. A choreographic work sequence that revises<br />
the relationship between production and product.<br />

Tiina Sööt, born 1986 in Tartu, Estonia. Performer and visual artist. Currently studying<br />
performance art in MA program of Estonian Academy of Arts; 2010 - 2011 Academy of Fine Arts<br />
Vienna - Performative Art (Prof. Carola Dertnig). Group and solo performances since 2009 in<br />
Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Austria and Germany, including events as NU Performance Festival IV<br />
(Tallinn; 2011), Global Container XXI (Tallinn; 2011), Performance Laboratorium 3 (Linz; 2011) and<br />
Seanahk II (Haapsalu, 2010).<br />
Dorothea Zeyringer, born 1989 in Vienna, Austria. Since 2010 studying at the Academy of Fine<br />
Arts Vienna - Performative Art (Prof. Carola Dertnig). 2012-<strong>2013</strong> Dance, Context, Choreography<br />
at the Inter-University Centre Dance Berlin. Works and performs with different collectives,<br />
developing a choreographic praxis in the field of dance and fine arts.
