Im Mai 2013 begab sich das New York Philharmonic zum fünften Mal unter <strong>der</strong> Leitung<br />
von Music Director Alan Gilbert auf große Tournee nach Europa. Zum ersten Mal in<br />
seiner Geschichte trat das Orchester dabei in Izmir an <strong>der</strong> türkischen Ägäisküste auf<br />
und kehrte nach 18 Jahren erstmalig wie<strong>der</strong> nach Istanbul zurück. Eindrücke dieses<br />

In May 2013, the New York Philharmonic embarked on its fifth European concert tour<br />
un<strong>der</strong> the lea<strong>der</strong>ship of Music Director Alan Gilbert. For the first time in its history, the<br />
orchestra performed in Izmir at the Aegean coast; and it also returned to Istanbul<br />
after 18 years. The following pages give an insight into the unique beginning of this tour.
